Weekly Music Roundup

Here’s this week’s music roundup. So far it’s two weeks running!

For those of you who missed the first week, I plan to do a weekly music roundup (like the title says) of music videos I watch throughout the week. The ones I pick are good and bad and they’re all videos that stood out to me.

Linkin Park – Leave Out All The Rest

Linkin Park is by far one of my favorite bands and this song is better ones on their Minutes to Midnight album. The video was really cool. It’s all of the members living in a futuristic space shuttle. I guess it goes with the song although I can’t tell. Some say they’ve changed but I don’t see it; however, I’m not too fond of their song with Busta Rhymes called We Made It. But Mike Shinoda plays the piano and any man that can play an instrument and look that good is hot stuff in my book.

Justin Nozuka – After Tonight

Not the official video but all you need is the song. He’s a Japanese Canadian and has an amazing voice! He’s similar to last week’s Chris Cendana but I don’t like him as much as CCendana. So far no one I can think of levels up to CCendana except. The song is however very soothing and something I’ve had on repeat for awhile. Eventually though I get sick of it and turn it off but come back to it. 

Kara – Come On Over (English)

Kara is coming back after a member left awhile ago to continue studying. Their English still sounds like Konglish but you can’t tell as much. I’m not a big fan of theirs but I do love Christina Aguilera and they didn’t completely slaughter the song. They’re definitely talented (if you like their rap/pop style) but not very soft on the eyes. Hopefully their two new members will be more appealing although I wouldn’t be disappointed if they weren’t. They’re just another Korean pop group doomed to be hated by Soshi fans.

Ok Jun Hyun – Honey

Ok Jun Hyun looks like an old school aujuma (older woman). Still the song is actually something I would listen to since I’m quite the fan of ballads. I heard her awhile ago but didn’t bother to keep up since she didn’t impress me as much back then. However with this new video, she’s definitely on my radar. Don’t expect much from the video. Most Korean MVs are either pointless or really touching.

Brown Eyes – A Year

This song is old, like 3 years at least. They disbanned in 2003 but decided to come back and release a new album which is why I choose this video. They’re a ballad boy group who would sweep me off my feet if they ever sang for me in person. /Prays. This song use to play constantly when I went shopping in Korea. Good to hear they’re coming back. I wonder if they’ll be just as good. Warning this song has the longest prelude/intro ever.

SM Town – Only Love

I know I only do 5 but this one I found last minute and looked good enough to add. It seems like all the SM Entertainment singers got together to do a song together. Who would think that all these groups would actually get along long enough for one song. Actually I’m only pointing out SNSD against everyone else. The song is okay but for a various artists song I expected better especially with sexy DBSK.
