They Are Finally Doing It!

I blogged a month and half ago about the long time Hong Kong showbiz couple Tony Leung and Carina Lau
admitting to the press that they are getting hitched this year. Well it
seems the big day is getting close since the press has released their
wedding details this week. According to the HK papers, here are some of
the expenses of their planned wedding: 

1. Wedding Ring - USD250,000

2. Wedding Cake & Invitations - USD25,000

3. Wedding Reception - USD150,000

4. Presidential Suite for a week - USD50,000 (why, can’t they just have sex at their own luxury pad!?)

5. Honeymoon in Europe - USD38,000 (what!? are they not flying first class? this seems a bit low to me)

I am sure these are just estimates done by the HK press. They like
to publish crap like this and most of the time it is not very accurate.
However, half a million dollar wedding is not that much for a mega
movie star like Tony Leung when you have celebrity wannabes like Star Jones
throwing a million dollar wedding over here. That bitch cashed in on
her wedding by asking a bunch of sponsors for freebies. Don’t even get
me started with her!

Back to Tony’s and Carina’s wedding, I am not interested in finding
out how much they will spend on their wedding. I am interested in
looking at their guest list, however. I am sure my Faye Wong will be there. She and Carina Lau are tight like sisters.

Tony and Carina have been dating since 1989 and many wonder why they
have dragged out their relationship for almost 20 years before tying
the knot. Well, apparently Tony was advised by some fortune-teller some
ten years ago not to get married or have any children before the age of
46 for fear of poor health and bad luck. He turns 46 at the end of this
month. Listen up guys, keep this excuse handy when your girlfriend
pressures you to marry her next time. Apparently it works.

Carina is also rumored to be four months pregnant. I guess we will be able to tell very soon if this is true.

Either way, congratulations to these two lovebirds. Wow, I cannot
believe I am not bitchy or negative for once! I guess wedding bliss is
a powerful thing. It’s really rubbing off on me that I am packing my
bags and hopping on the next flight out to California to get married.
