Apparently our friends at PETA
have a life beyond dousing celebrity fur wearers in paint. They also
conduct online polls to seek “The Sexiest Male and female Vegetarian
Celebrity” annually. Ethical treatment of animals is a global effort
and so was this search. It was conducted in different regions of the
world and the winner of Asia was none other than the Asia diva Faye Wong.
My girl beat last year’s winner Maggie Q.
She has inspired me to become a vegetarian and I will start observing
that diet daily between 12am and 7am starting tomorrow. I will be
dreaming of Chinese broccoli and tofu every night. While Faye was the
“Sexiest Female Vegetarian of 2008”, the “Sexiest Male Vegetarian”
title went to Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachan. Over here, the title went to pop songstress Leona Lewis and the lead singer of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis.
Instead of conducting an annual poll for this award category, I suggest
PETA to come up with something more relevant, like “The Most Iron
Deficient Vegetarian” award or “ The Constantly Hungry Vegetarian”
award. Just kidding. I have many friends who are vegetarians and they
are all healthier than me, not to mention skinner too!
