2008

Tonight was the second episode of the season and the challenge for this week was Video Star Challenge. The videos were picked for each crew and it seemed like each video went with each crew’s style. Some challenge. But the performances were strong overall. Honestly, I like it this way better. It’s more entertaining.

The first top 2 crews were Super Crew and Fanny Pak. The first bottom crew; however, was the hated cheerleading squad, Sassx7. Well, I should say hated by most people, not all.

Super Crew was the first to perform and their song was Chris Brown – Run It. The two dance moves they wanted to use from the video were the funky chicken and crumping. Their routine was as good as their last, but not quite as cool. It definitely had their smooth b-boy style. Best part was watching them lip sing the song. Flashbacks of NSYNC was running through my head when I saw them. It was a great way to start off the show and the judges loved how they were creative and stayed true to their style. Although JC doesn’t believe b-boying is a dance style. So why is it that Shane, a professional choreographer, considers it a dance style? Some might call this a tiff, I see bitter resentment here and the possibility of a heated fight.

Next up Fanny Pak to Gwen Stefani – Wind it Up. They attempted to do some b-boying, knee float and flare, in their routine this week. They didn’t look like the crew we saw last week with the ridiculous clothes, if fact they looked worse. Blonde wigs and school girl outfits remind me of a bad porno video or a bad 72 Hour Shootout film. (That one was for David.) They managed to pull off a half-ass flare/windmill in addition to a sloppy knee float that the judges praised them for trying. Nice try guys, see you in the bottom two next week.

Next top 2 crews were Phresh Select and Supreme Soul while the bottom crew was the manny/petty boys, Extreme Dance Force.

Supreme Soul was due up next and their routine was to Omarion – Touch. As good as these guys are supposed to be, one of their members can’t glide to save his life. Although he managed to fake it enough to convince the judges, kinda. The routine was a step up from last week but that wasn’t hard to do. The judges praised them for bringing it this week; however, I’m still wondering is that all that got? Remember, the Jabba debate about them? It’s pretty much settled in my mind.

Phresh Select performed to Chris Brown – Gimme That using the tut walk. Their routine was really theatrical but reminded me of last’s season Status Quo only they looked better. Also like Status Quo, Judges said they need to hit their moves harder.

Next were the last 2 top crews, So Real and ASIID while Boogie Bots hit the bottom. Out of the three, yea Boogie Bots should be bottom, but it’s still sad to see them there.

ASIID performed to Ciara – Like A Boy using the crotch grab. It was a more masculine song for the crew who sexed it up last week but it still worked for them. They managed to hit it strong and still be sexy to the slow song, which was a bit of a clash for the judges. I think they pulled it off very well. Definitely a top 3 crew. Side note, Joey is rocking the corn rolls.

Next was So Real to Usher – Love In This Club using spins and glides. This song seemed the most challenging out of all the others with its rapid slow, fast, techno beat. But of course, they pulled it off with again smooth and precise moves that didn’t remind me at all of Kaba Modern. Judges, however, thought their tricks were a bit sloppy. Once again, Lil Mama proves our point that she can’t judge and nor convey constructive criticism. “Stab a chicken in the heart,” she tells So Real at the end. WTF?

Next were the bottom 2. I was expecting Sassx7 and Extreme Dance Force to be the bottom 2 but I guess ABDC wouldn’t be ABDC without an upset. Boogie Bots and Sassx7 were voted as the bottom 2 while Extreme Dance Force was safe for next week. The crowd was stunned and chanted for Boogie Bots. Are we sure MTV isn’t rigged? Transparency ju say yo.

Extreme Dance Forced performed to Mario – Let Me Love You using body waves. They were very literal with their moves which were kind of cool but would have been cooler if some of them were a little more together. It was sloppy and I can’t believe they were voted over Boogie Bots. Somehow, judges liked them. I must have blink and missed the good parts.

Boogie Bots were up and they went old school again with B2K – Bump, Bump, Bump using the lean and booty bounce. This crew has showed they have a fun, interesting personality and glad that their on the show repping the East. I was starting to worry I was on the wrong side of the country. They hit their routine hard with their intricate moves in addition to a little booty shaking that had me rolling. Probably the most entertaining if not the best routine of the night. They seem like a fun crew and hopefully they’ll stay much longer. If I had to choose which crew to party with it would be So Real then Boogie Bots. That’s how awesome I think they are.

Last and definitely least was Sassx7 to Britney Spears – I’m A Slave using body rolls. They looked like retarded strippers that bathe in animal grease. It was very, very boring and the worst routine I’ve seen on ABDC. It was different from their other routines. No more cheerleading stuff this time. Plenty of stripper stuff though. You would think seven half-naked girls gyrating in synchrony would be popular enough to make them stay. If only the voting was done by all horny males who thinks with their second brain… Judges said good things about them suprisingly. Perhaps the judges were tired and couldn’t find anything else to say. Or maybe the judges knew they were going to get voted off so they decided to be nice. Who knows.

In any case, the judges liked both crew. They said Boogie Bots were very fun and definitely not a joke while Sassx7 was sexy and confident. Of course it was the male judges that liked Sassx7, I wonder what Lil’ Mama had to say about them. After deliberating, Sassx7 were the ones to go home. Finally!

Next week’s challenge is “Rock the Title”. You can watch the Inside the Moves version of this episode on Saturday. Don’t forget to vote here.

I can’t wait to see Super Crew. I wonder which MV they picked.

I want to see Supreme Soul live up to their rep.

Yeah me too. But I want to see ASIID and Super Crew more. Joey is so cute. :B

He is cute. I started tearing up when I saw him talk about his friends. :( haha

Half the country thinks that now! haha I wonder how he feels about this type of attention.

Again, we’ll write a wrap up and post videos as soon as we can. Looking forward to reading all your comments from the show. We might even include some in the blog posting this time. Funnier comics have a better chance of getting in!

My comics are always funny raspberry

Most of them will be directed at Lil Mama…

A lot better than he felt when he was a kid. smile He looks rich though. His house is HUGE.

Any guess on which teams are bottom two?

Sassx7 and Extreme Dance Force

easy question raspberry

Sassx7 + Fanny Pak

Tough call on bottom two. It could be any one of the three:

sassx7
extreme dance force (gay name btw)
Fanny Pak

I kinda want Supreme Soul taken down to bottom two but not eliminated to make them humble a bit.

Gonna start soon!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck to all the crews!!

I’m so excited raspberry

Wow Sassx7 has horrible taste in clothing…

Even though Super Crew did bad they made it through. Only cuz there’s many other suckier teams.

Fanny Pak went from last to class haha

Are they gonna use the same theme from last season? Cuz I swear this was from the second week of last season too.

Holy Shit b-boys are the coolest people on Earth!

ROFL Shane just tore JC’s comment up! Super crew’s performance was a thing of beauty though.

I just notice Super Crew has a hand sign. That’s so cool <33

Good start to the show. Let’s hope every performance is this hot…

off topic, but who’s gonna go see Wanted tomorrow? I’ve seen that commercial so much that I feel like i have to go see it now. raspberry
