As promised I ran around the internet searching for some of the most heartbreaking music videos and guess what? All of them are Korean! Haha I tried to expand my search to Japanese and Chinese but I had no luck because none of the ones I did find came close to these. However, I found that a lot of Japanese songs have really sad lyrics.
So here it is, 8 of the saddest music videos I’ve ever seen. It was really hard watching all of them.
Brown Eyes – Already One Year
I featured this one last week but I thought it was a sad music video that deserved to make the list. Who doesn’t love 2 sexy half naked Koreans? Plus Brown Eyes are one of my favorite Korean ballad singers. I couldn’t find the continued video unfortunately.
Epik High – One
Not quite your typical sad song but if you watch the video and look up the translation to the video, you’ll find that it’s quite sad. The video shows a girl who’s sad about a break up. I was confused after watching it the first time but just know she’s sad about a break up.
Position - Remake
This video completely reminded me of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s movie “If Only” which was a good movie. The ending was predictable but you see how he learns from his mistakes fast.
Choeun – Sad Love Song
Can you say Kiss – Because I’m a Girl? Not exactly the same but the concept was almost identical. Blind, leaves the girl without saying anything, finds her again but he doesn’t know it’s her. Despite that, it’s a good video.
Lee Seung Gi – Words That Are Hard to Say
Teenage love is too cute especially in this case. I would definitely admire any guy that wouldn’t mind getting his ass beat on a daily basis for me. Where are these types of guys now? Oh yeah, they don’t exist! It’s not that sad as much as romantic.
SeeYA – Shoes (Mini Series Part 1 or 2)
All I have to say is this is the saddest video series I’ve ever seen. It’s by Seeya and it’s a two part music video series that’s continued below. If you cried on this one, you’re going to bawl liking a little baby when you finish the next one.
SeeYA- Crazy Love Song (Mini Series Part 2 or 2)
Crying yet? I completely flipped out when I finished this one. I’ve always liked Seeya and I’m kind of sad they’re not around still. All I can say is after watching this music video I could only think “Wtf is wrong with Korean people?”
Kiss – Because I’m a Girl
And of course I had to put this one. It’s the ultimate Korean music video that everyone and their mom have seen. It was the first Korean MV I saw back in the 8th grade and I was really surprised at how good it was. I even cried when I saw it then and even after the millionth time, it still gets me.
