If you haven’t heard or seen this teal haired pop diva, then you’re missing out. Hatsune Miku is a product of a speech synthesizer software called Vocaloid. The software allows a user to synthesize music by typing the lyrics and melody. My geeky senses are tingling.

Hatsune Miku was introduced only last year as part of the Vocaloid Vocal Series on August 32, 2007. Since then she’s been a favorite of Youtube and Nico Nico Douga (Japanese video streaming site) which has boasted the popularity of the software. Nothing like a hot anime girl to make you famous.

Lately, Miku has been comically altered to hold a leek. No idea why but I would have to say she even makes leek look good. She also been seen doing various anime songs and the famous caramelldansen and haruhi dance.

She started in her own manga called Maker Hikoshiki Hatsune Mix in November last year by Jive. A second manga was created called Hachune Miku no Nichijo Roipara! later in December. She then first appeared in the anime (Zoku) Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei. She also got her own online multiplayer game. The Japanese version of PangYa started a campaign with Hatsune Miku in May this year. She also appeared in a Nintedo DS game called 13-sai no Hello Work.

For a fake diva, she’s had quite the career in only less than a year. Maybe I should dye my hair teal and sing.
