First off, wtf is Mario wearing? So this week on America’s Best Dance Crew was the third episode of the second season. The challenge this week was “Rock the Title” where each crew was given a song title that they would have to visually illustrate in their routine. Even though this challenge was recycled from last season, I actually like it.

The first crew to be named in the top four is ASIID. This left cocky Supreme Soul in the bottom four. I thought they were suppose to be good like better than Jabbawockeez who were a top crew for 6 weeks in a row?

ASIID performed to Flo Rida – Roll. This was one of their weaker routines. I wasn’t as impressed with any of the tricks but they also had the hardest song. The majority of the other songs had a theme while some of the crews were left with a verb. Not quite as easy to stay in your challenge if you constantly have to do the same trick over and over again. Anyways the best part was when the guy revealed he had “Roll” shaved into his head. The judges thought it was a good routine but a bit sloppy. I hope they pick it up next week because I would hate to see them go.

Next up was between So Real and Phresh Select. No brainer, right? So Real remains in the top while Phresh Select is left in the bottom.

So Real performed to R. Kelly – Snake. They stayed in their challenge the entire routine and included a lot of intricate details, although it was slow in the beginning. Also, the famous “explosion” hand shake made an appearance that made me laugh. Judges saw how they stayed in their illusion and really liked their routine but again it was slow in the beginning.

Now it’s between Super Crew and Fanny Pak. A lot of the choices between the crews are so obvious.

Super Crew performed to Jim Jones – Fly High. This was by far the best routine in ABDC history. Even though it was an action they had to perform, they found something that represented it and pulled it off quite nicely. I couldn’t keep my jaw shut after watching this performance and the judges were right there with me. Although JC again thinks that break dancing isn’t a dance style. I hope Shane Sparks kicks his ass. But anyways the judges really enjoyed their routine and kept trying to fit everything they liked about it. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time.

Next up is Boogie Bots and Extreme Dance Force. I’ll die before a pretty boy gets picked over a b-boy.

Boogie Bots performed to Lil’ Flip – Game Over. How perfect is that? They definitely made me feel nostalgic with their routine. Not only did they bring back all the old school games, they pulled off a glow in the dark transformer that blew me away. The judges were very impressed and were happy that they finally lived up to their name.

So now are the bottom four crews with Fanny Pak, Supreme Soul, Extreme Dance Force and Phresh Select. Surprisingly Fanny Pak made it along with Supreme Soul

Fanny Pak performed to Britney Spears – Toy Soldier. It wasn’t as strong as their other routines. I was a bit disappointed because I actually thought they were doing better than expected. I foresee them leaving in the next week or two. Also, they always seem to flash some sort of skin in every routine. Whatever keeps them alive I guess. Judges however liked their dance and Shane particularly mentioned how he liked that fact that they were the underdogs. I’m expecting a lot more out of them if they even think they’re going to match up to Super Crew and Boogie Bots.

Supreme Soul performed to Flow Rida – Elevator. It had a funny ending with the elevator move but not what I had hoped for. For a crew who bragged about being good and beating Jabbawockeez I have yet to see them do a challenge as well as the some of the other crews. It wasn’t bad but it’s wasn’t great either. When are they going to step up their game? Judges highlighted their concept and use of props but said they needed better choreography.

Finally the bottom two with Phresh Select and Extreme Dance Force.

Phresh Select performed to T.I. – Big Thing Poppin. There was a lot of conflict with the group on how to do the routine. I thought they were role models in Philly? They had some cool tricks but ultimately one of the more forgettable routines. After watching it I thought maybe Extreme Dance Force had a chance.

But I was wrong. Extreme Dance Force performed to Tech N9ne – Earthquake. They’re usually more together but since they have no idea wtf an earthquake is they got lazy and sloppy. The shorts at the end were funny though.

Judges praised Phresh Select for their illusion and energy but it was sloppy even with simple choreography. For Extreme Dance Force they liked the concept but there was too much chaos and not enough dance. Who goes home? Go figure, it’s the pretty boys Extreme Dance Force.

The season has been predictable so far I hope by next week that’ll change. So far it’s looking good with an original challenge – Speed Challenge. All teams will have to perform to a song that’s at a fast tempo. This should be funny. Would have been perfect for last season’s Live in Color.

Don’t forget to vote for your favorite crew. Voting is only opened till Friday July 4th 6:30AM EST.
