Weekly Music Round Up August 24

Better late than never! I usually post in on Saturdays since Fridays is dedicated to America’s Best Dance Crew. But ABDC is over now and the winner is Super Crew, congrats to them! So I’ll be posting on Fridays from now on.

But that doesn’t explain why this post is a day late. So recently we’ve launched a new website called GirlyBubble and it’s about duh! girl stuff. It’ll feature two new bloggers in addition to me plus a guest blogger whom you may know. :O It’s been a great project so far and I hope the rest of you like. Community Channel – I F*cked Your Mom

Here’s a parody song of Katy Perry - I Kissed a Girl by Asian Aussie Community Channel. I think it’s her singing; the audio is kind weird and bad. The entire video she’s eating stuff while seducing Chanel products. It’s really funny if you read the lyrics on the side but after one listen you get sick of it.

FT Island – After Love

This song sounded like it came straight out of Korean drama which it probably did. The video is about how all the guys lost their lover; how original. The song is okay, it’s a little over dramatic for me. They have better songs and if you’re into the whole rock ballad thing, they’ll be right up your alley.

Wonder Girls – This Time

This single is really different from their usual upbeat kpop; it’s a softer and slower sounding R&B song. Probably their best song so far but it would be better if they didn’t sound like they had nasal congestion. The video is also different from their norm as it has more animation and less them, and the animation sucks. If they were going to do that style they should have had better artwork.

Maximum the Hormone – Tsume Tsume Tsume

Not one of their better songs. I didn’t really like Maximum till I heard their all time famous Zetsubou Billy and What’s Up People. Of course not many people I know of do like their music since they argue that “I don’t understand what they’re saying” not including that they’re singing in Japanese. But anyways Maximum has definitely come out with better songs but I wouldn’t completely throw this one out the window.

Shoko Nakagawa – Shiny Gate

Lawl! I thought this was appropriate since it was the last week of the Olympics. The video starts out slow and doesn’t actually get to the song till 2 – 3 minutes through but the story line is super cute. If you notice it says Onlypic 2008 in the background as the video is based on an idol singing competition. It is a real competition btw. But aside from the video, the song is pretty good assuming you’re into upbeat Jpop. This is also very different from her cicada cosplay.
