FHM (For Him Magazine) is best known for its sexy, and at times sleazy, pictorials that send the blood pressure of straight guys and gayelles around the world rising. You know it’s a substitute for guys who are too embarrassed to pick up a copy of Playboy or Hustler from the newstand. Originated from the U.K., the magazine has a subscription base of 10 million horny dudes in 31 countries. In September, FHM will have provided these horndogs with numerous whack off materials for 10 straight years.
In Singapore, FHM has a readership of approximately 56,000 readers and is the top selling magazine for men in that tiny city state. The FHM team in Singapore plans to celebrate the magazine’s anniversary with a big bang. How? They will put ten scantily clad Asian girls on the cover, which will sure give its readers the nose bleed of their lifetime. Mandy Soong, one of the hoochies on the cover and the newly crowned champ of FHM’s Girl Next Door contest, has no qualms about being associated with a men’s magazine. The 19-year-old student took part in the contest to gain more media exposure and proclaimed that she’s now one step closer to a career in showbiz. If you ask me I think bitch was delusional. This is more like one step closer to the soft porn industry and a step up from waitressing at Hooters.
FHM magazine to straight men and gayelles is probably like the annual Abercrombie and Fitch book to gay men. It’s all about sex. But the senior editor of FHM Singapore,David Fuhrmann-Lim, disagrees. He said in a recent interview, “We don’t really set out to objectify anyone, the pictorials glorify the women and they are always accompanied by a very FHM-style interview which in a way showcases the girls’ personalities.” I am sure the interviews are deep and inspirational, and the readers would get together once a month just to discuss them.
Here are more pictures of Mandy Soong. Watch out Annabel Chong!
This little sister here is going to break the world record you set back
in 1995. She will do it with 71 men in a ten-hour period… just one more
douchebag than you.

Did anyone think she looks like a tranny?
Anyway… next time, please make the main picture bigger…
Couldn’t get my nose to bleed… lol
I subscribe to FHM magazine.
“This is more like one step closer to the soft porn industry and a step up from waitressing at Hooters.” - Yup sex sales. Does not matter what country or area, sex sales and can make profits.
“I am sure the interviews are deep and inspirational, and the readers would get together once a month just to discuss them.” - I like this sentence, cause your sarcasm is funny, but makes sense.

I ment in general. Yeah of course they cater to both but look at the way men dress and such, they’re more feminine as oppose to America.
Btw you see more girls cosplaying than guys and even more girls cosplaying AS guys. And most anime is cutesy so it’s not just for guys mainly.
Wow you write a lot. lol ^^

Western culture caters to dominately to male audiences whereas Asian caters to female.
Last I checked Asian caters to men also. Anime, Manga, Hentai, video games, and more all male oriented. With the exception of the king in Katamari Damacy when have you seen characters in Asian media really catering to women?
* I think globally it favors the males than the females. Look at how many products are out there to help the woman to look and feel good to cater yeah themselves as well as the men to get the attention. True the market has opened up for men as well… But more products for women.
Comment to Alvin:
Here is some perspective:
There is so much criticism of this magazine over here, when there are probably more than a dozen more examples of similar if not worse cases in the United States and other Western societies.
*True aware there are many
So… which cultures/civilizations objectify women more, Western or Eastern cultures?
* I think both do…
This reminds me of other examples. A very small handful of Asian American music or film may include offensive lyrics or scenes which will be passionately bashed and criticized by Asian Americans,
* I think that is because within the Asian Ameican community in America there is an image to the american society that it is unexpected for inappropriate behavior from asian american.
meanwhile there is much more sexist and degrading and misogynistic music and film everyday in American music and film that is non-Asian and receives little criticism.
* True, It should be criticise as well and kinda is from a few looking into hiphop as negative influence. But hiphop can be positive as well. Asians in general is culturally collective when mix into the american culture of individualism it clashes. Asian american critize more about asian americans versus non asians because there is a sense of collective representation even though each person make their own decisions.
It really gives you a sense of just how powerful women and men are in each kind of culture. In my opinion the feminists in Asian America and in Asia are way stronger and louder than those in America.
* I’m not sure about that, I feel it is just the begining were asian american feminist are starting to speak about it, but not enough to do something about it. In general women are probably still begining to talk about it but I feel still falls into fueling the objectification in order to feel powerful. Example the more sexier the woman is the more powerful she is just as for men it is about making more money. Of course woman are getting more educated and can carry themselves and make money but there is still an societal cast or expectation for women to be sexy. On the flip side maybe it is empowerment to be sexy… hmmmm it is kinda one of those things your damned if you do and damned if you don’t.... I think girls have it harder than the boys… but that would be another topic....
Well either way it’s sex sells and that usually means half dressed people. More likely women over males.

I find this section funny. “Deep and inspirational” as you nose bleed…
Is there a magazine the showcase classy and smart ladies?
Not against this type of entertainment, just asking for variety…
I was reading Annabel Chong bio, I was like damn crazy but she retired nonetheless....

You know it’s bad enough to turn over to the back of popular free newspaper( Which many people pick up to go on the train) in the morning such as the METRO and AM to see many exotic Asian woman services. Asian woman are overly sexualize and asian men are underly sexualize. However Asian men don’t have to join the boat to enforce the extra sexualization of asian woman to be more manly so to speak.
hmmmm but this can go into another topic… Empowerment for Asian American about their sexuality.
Another idea - in general there is tension between men and women… Can we get along as friends…
Well does entertainment have to objectify women in general to sell?
There is so many things we can observe that does…
that is my soap box for the day....
Leah Dizon looks better than her.

That part when Mandy Soong said she was one step closer to showbiz made me chuckle a bit. There are other ways into showbiz than this kind of thing.

i dunno she looks kind of like something smells bad. hot bod maybe but not very sexy composure.
I think she would better if she wasn’t so slutty.

She isn’t stunning but she is very attractive
Yeah she is? She’s very natural looking.
The winner isn’t that hot.

Yes, when I want to glorify myself, I get half naked and pose for a men’s magazine. -.-;
It would be sexier if they had katanas.
Nose bleeds indeed.
