Which anime series would make the best MMO universe based on story, characters, and abilities?

Okay the secret is out, Mia is not up to date on the latest MMO/RPG type games. Yet, like everyone else in the this loving world I too have dabbled in some RPG VG’s. Mostly my interest favors the genre of horror survival games. You know, games like Fatal Frame and Resident Evil. This pretty much tops of my limited VG knowledge because the truth is I really am a backseat player! No really I am… I rather watch or be the sideman to someones strategic moves. Oh I have had my share of live xbox adventures, which I will tell you about later on, but personally I rather just be in the audience.

So, when I was asked the question which Anime would make the best MMO I thought to myself, do I have enough knowledge about MMO? Surely… I watch enough Anime to know the ones I would want to be apart of, so there is where my decision would lay. So I thought…hmmmm Slayers Maybe? Macross? HackSign? Hellsing? Inuyasha? or Pokemon?

Slayers has enough magic to work. Lina’ Inverse’s Universe is a fantasy type genre, that is perfect for MMO right? What about HackSign? I mean come on “The World!” is basically a animated MMO, since this very Anime is based on that it would be perfect. AND OH MY, think of that soundtrack! See-Saw and Yiki Kajiura in the back with that celtic harmony it would be fantastic… or really annoying. So forget those… Hellsing could be combined with vampire shoot’em up to make one hell of a game. Yet what else could you do there but shoot vampires.. ok that is out… Pokemon! THATS it! Pokemon style tournament battles between players would be very succesful. You could Catch’em, Trade’m or Buy’em.. then raise’em and fight’em. Wait, there is already a Pokemon MMO. OOPS!

However, anything that has quests and battles is good. Maybe Inuyasha? Surely that is a very popular series? A player could be a yokai or a hanyu character. Depending which side they rather be on Either fight along side Kikyosama or Naraku? What about Bleach? The world of shinigami and quincy can collide pre-Ichigo.

But all in all I believe the best MMO world would be the Japanese version of Macross. Yes not Robotech, as much as robotech was my first love the Japanese Macross worlds are just to big for it NOT to be a MMO.

See unlike the others, that I have mentioned, a Macross MMO can be huge. Macross plains across several universes (as well as dimensions if they added macross II) unlike the one continent or planet to deal with in others. From the first series incantation of the Island of Macross, the SDF1’s rebuild, and the present stories this MMO can span lightyears. A member could be a scientist working on the SDF1 or a pilot of a mech, Maybe someone can waitress at Nyan Nyan for extra dough? The Macross world expands over 5 series, and countless manga. Series like Macross7, Macrossplus, Macross7Trash, MacrossZero, and MacrossFrontier… can all be combined. Maybe you want to see a firebombers concert or take a vacation on planet with the protodevlins.

Macross has a wealth of alien life marupial Zolans, Zentradi, Varauta, Protodeviln, and Vajra…someone can be and the players can be half alien or whole. One day you can be Zentradi the next day Meltradi. Personally I think Macross has a enough diverse drama and action that can truly span worlds, men and women would play.

Personally I’d like to have an account that I can have several characters do get my Deculture oN!
