New York Anime Festival starts in less than 24 hours, hope you bought your tickets already!

As mentioned in several previous blog posts and emails, Ningin will have professional photographers come and take photos of as many cosplayers as we can with all photos being added live to our special NYAF gallery. First 500 cosplayers will get a one-of-a-kind Ningin/NYAF badge as a souvenir. What we didn’t mention was that we will also have a best photo/best cosplayer contest and Ningin users will have the power to decide the winner!

Sometime on Monday 9/29, the Ningin staff will narrow the choices a bit and select their top 20 cosplayers from the weekend for audience award voting. Audience voting will last until midnight Saturday 10/4 and announced on Sunday 10/5. The top three cosplayers will be profiled and interviewed by our Ningin bloggers. The overall best cosplayer will also receive two super exclusive tickets to the private premiere of the Megaman Movie and two tickets to Comic Con next February.

XD My friend and I once discussed about dressing up as Mario and Luigi . . . for my psychology project hahaha.  It didn’t fall through, though, it would have been interesting!

@Hoc—I’m sure there are anime festivals here or some kind of comic conventions, but it’s either always during times I can’t go, I already have plans, or it’s too darn far and I’m lazy to make the commute.  Of course, there’s also the fact that I don’t hear about the event until it’s too late. XD

@Mia—Hahaha that’d be interesting!  Let’s do the dance, eh?

@Lan—AWWW!  *hugs her little dongsaeng* Thanks for the thought and offer. :3 I’d so like to escape from Seoul sometimes!

They don’t have anime festivals in Korea? Well, we took all these photos so that our friends and users will be able to be there in “spirit” =)


I want that yaoi paddle.  Like, HOMG.  Actually, I take that back.  I’d have a hard time explaining to my parents, especially my mother, why I have a paddle and what exactly yaoi means X____X;; Dad already knows, I think.  My mother can remain ignorant.

Man, looking at all these pictures makes me wish I was in NY.  Darn ocean, landmass, and distance for being in my way.


I expected more Haruhis.
