Sunday’s weather for the 26th Annual Korean Harvest Fest in Flushing Meadows Park couldn’t have been better. The first day of autumn in New York, presented a true Indian summer of bright sun and warm breezes. The weather must have known to prepare for the attendees that came out in droves. Korean Americans from the tri-state area, and various other ethnicity’s local to New York came out to support local businesses that set up shop along a makeshift market in the middle of the park.

The aroma of freshly grilled meals filled the parks roads and although, buying food is not that expensive at the Flushing Harvest Festival, it does cost more than you would pay if you were preparing it yourself. If you go next year, and I hope you do, be smart and bring cash to make sure you can buy wonderfully made snacks and goodies because there is no ATM. You will get to taste some of the most scrumptious and freshest treats made with pride and love.  An outdoor gala event of this size has to be appreciated so we get more of them too!

During this festivity people walk around in traditional hanbok celebrating Chuseok which is considered a Korean Thanksgiving of sorts and usually takes place in Korea about one week earlier then the festival date. Costume clad drummers, singers, fan dancers, rappers, comediennes and martial artists performed in areas around the market and on the main stage. The fan fair of the festival usually lasts a whole weekend long. Practice days begin on Saturday so people do come out to see performers at these makeshift sound checks. This year we got to see a second round of live auditions for JYPentertainment, the first Asian record label in the US and the winner if the competition performed live!!
But all in all it was the performers from JYPE that the crowd was hyped to see. The main highlights of the show being The Wondergirls and JYP himself. There were appearances also by G-Soul, J-Lim and Min who individually showed their talents. Min was sporting a shorter hair style with some cute blond highlights that made her face look really cute. G-soul is showing signs of becoming an experienced performer and J-Lim is beautiful as always.

Of course the audience will agree that the best part of the main stages show was getting to see The Wondergirls perform live in the USA. They sang their hits, Tell me, So hot, and Eebabo. Then we got a special surprise cause the, king of Korean entertainment (aka my hunny), JYP performed. The man can dance and he doesn’t take any breaks. We also must thank JYP for the dancing eye-candy his dancers Jason Lee (seen in the photo above with ms-info from hot97) and the twins Dee/Sean especially.

Here is your list from me your chuseok flushing fest essentials bring cash (for goodies), napkins  antibacterial lotion and your camera because the cultural explosion is just very impressive. I hope you follow up with us as we bring you more photos, video and news from the 2008 Chuseokcelebration! Look for the twins interviewing with our own FAM bloggers and more on the JYPE affiates coming soon.

Yoo Bin has no butt. haha Luckily she can rap.

They all seem to be lacking in the booty dept but hey they do have nice bodies just the same. But I love that pic of her pointing to the crowd! LOL!

Seeya isn’t that bad.

The leopard print is a bit odd but it’s better than what other groups have been wearing.

Those are slightly different from before.

Do they always wear the same outfit?

I wish I could have went. :(

Hai she was. She’s so pretty and kind of short in that photo. ^^
