2008

With Tokyo Game Show 2008 ending, it brought a couple of things that made me go absolutely “SQUEE” about some of the upcoming DS games.

I admit that I’m a nerd. I admit that I’m a gamer. It’s seen as a “bizarre” concept amongst my fellow Koreans, especially the older generations who sees this more for children who do poorly in schools, but do I care? No! Considering my decent GPA in high school and college, I deserve some fun! I like my games! I like my toys. Only problem is that gaming is one expensive hobby that hurts my wallet and bank account the most! Regardless of that, I am eagerly awaiting on a few games that are to come out for the DS — well couple that have yet to have a release date for the English speaking realm, but a girl can dream, right?

My Japanese Coach

Release Date: October 14, 2008 (according to Amazon.com)
Fangirling: I want this really badly. This will definitely motivate me to learn Japanese. I just wonder how good it really will be, though. And if it will ever come out. It was supposed to come out last month, but it ended up being delayed.

Chrono Trigger DS

Release Date: November 25, 2008 (according to Amazon.com)
Fangirling: The game, the game, the game that started it all for me! Just watching the trailer brings tears to my eyes. I do hope the DS remake is much better than the craptacular PlayStation One version, yech! But oh, I shall have a fun reunion with this.

Suikoden Tierkreis

Release Date: December 18, 2008 (Japan), February 2009 (North America)
Fangirling: Finally Konami gets off its lazy arse and gives a Suikoden game after how many years? If the game’s any good as the trailer indicates, they will be forgiven. The game really does look mad sexy and lives up to its predecessors. As a Suikoden fangirl, I really can’t wait for this game.

Gyakuten Kenji

Release Date: Spring 2009 (Japan)
Fangirling: Miles Edgeworth (Mitsurugi Reiji)! Dick Gumshoe (Itonokogiri Keisuke)! The anticipation for this game must be really high in Japan as well if they have their own fantastically awesome booth!

They came out with a Japanese Coach? :O

They are now.

Didn’t they come out with new DS colors? I wanted the baby blue one!

You can get it customized.

I need money…

What colors your DS Tara?

Didn’t they come out with new DS colors? I wanted the baby blue one!

The current DS colors currently being produced in America are White, Black, Metallic Rose, Silver, and Blue. Pink and Crimson have been discontinued but are still sold in good number of stores. Unsurprisingly, Japan has a bunch of crazy-ass colors like “Pikachu Yellow”. I met a woman who had a baby blue DS once, the thing was beautiful. Beats my turquoise DS any day.

Noooo not pink! :( Although Metallic Rose and Pink look a like…

@Sakura—My DS-Lite is black.  Smexy black.  Can’t go wrong with that since I abhor pink with a passion.  I wouldn’t mind the Navy Blue one, though . . . darn Japan for getting all the neat colours! XD

I have Pink! :(

<3 Hey, enjoy your pink one!  I just don’t like pink as my possession! ^^;;

I can’t wait for the Gyakuten Kenji game! <3333

XD I know!  Spring 2009!?  That means we’d probably have to wait until Summer or Autumn 2009!  The torture of waiting. *sobs*

Black > all colors of the rainbow.

Pink is the new black :3

I actually want the old red/black DS lite that came out a while back in a bundle for something.  Now I’m waiting for Rhythm Heaven and that Chrono Trigger remake.

They actually sold the Crimson one separately for a solid two months. You can still find them in stores.

What kind of games do you like to play?

Yeah, but I already have a black DS - I really don’t want to buy a new one just for the colors.

As for game types, needs more rhythm games like Ouendan and EBA.

I generally like my strategy games and platformers like Advance Wars, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and Kirby. Off-beat games like Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright also have a place in my heart.

I generally am a JRPG person that has a turn-based system.  Strategy rpgs and action rpgs drives me nuts.

I also like point and click adventure games like Phoenix Wright. XD Rhythm games are also fun to kill time!
