Dim Sum is like sex to me. I need to have it once a week, sometimes more. As I age I cannot do it 5 or 6 times a week anymore. I mean dim sum, not sex. The high fat content in dim sum has a lot to do with my expanding waistline as my metabolism slows… thanks to the freaking aging process. Come to think of it, I will probably need to have more sex to burn off the calories from dim sum. So it’s fair to say that the two have a perfect positive correlation. More dim sum, more sex. Now what’s not to like about that???
Ok, I meant to blog an entry about dim sum and not sex, so my sincerest apologies to those who have lost their appetite imagining me going at it in your head. If you want to go to a great dim sum place in New York City, go to Dim Sum Go Go. Located in the heart of Manhattan Chinatown, this restaurant serves up authentic dim sum dishes in a non-traditional manner. There is no waiting around for the poor old lady to come to your table with her cart. You just check off what you want on a list and hand it to your server and all your orders will come out simultaneously, hot and fresh. This service style suits impatient people like me to a tee. Usually I end up running around hunting for food in places that serve dim sum on a cart since I am in no mood to wait around for the cart to come to me. Once I even ended up in the kitchen where the servers load up their carts at this 100 year-old dim sum place in Hong Kong. Ya, cart style is not for me.
DIM SUM GO GO has a great variety of dim sum dishes to satiate your dim sum cravings. The shrimp dumplings (har gau) and pork dumplings (shu mai) are a must. Other favorites of mine include the BBQ pork pastry, duck dumplings, shrimp-mango rolls, stir-fry celery & chives with honey walnuts and mango pudding. They also have a great selection of vegetarian dumplings for the herbivores out there.
Like other dim sum places, DIM SUM GO GO provides their patrons with condiments like soy sauce and minced ginger and scallions if they want to add some extra flavors to their food. The restaurant also serves this special condiment called XO Sauce. It’s a spicy sauce made up of dried shredded scallops. It’s to die for and can be eaten on its own.
So for dim sum lovers out there, remember to check this place out if you are in Manhattan next and are in the mood for some delicious dim sum. On weekends go there before noon if you want to avoid the long wait for a table. Just remember to have a quickie after you get filled up on dim sum and you can thank me later for the restaurant recommendation and the essential tip in staying fit despite eating fatty food!

Andrew, I got my kid a book about dim sum with great artwork. I’ve only had it once, but loved it. I think I would like DS the way it’s served at this place.
I need to hit this spot up, I need more dim sum and of course sex lol. This article is naughty, but I approve. Flushing is closer to me so lately I’ve gone there for dim sum.
It’s usually always busy. So go at a time that’s not normal lunch or dinner.
I wish I could visit NY. :(
Interesting analogy.
That’s such a cute name.

I love dim sum. I wish they were bigger though. Like Lan said. haha
It’s dim sum? Aren’t they suppose to be small?
I ate there before. I thought it was really good but the portions were so small. :X
