For those who don’t read Chinese, here’s the story. Once there was this Chinese restaurant owner in Beijing who was very eager to cater his restaurant business to the visiting foreigners during the Beijing Olympics games. His restaurant sign was written in Chinese, and had to be translated into English according to the local authority. The owner did not want to hire a translator in an attempt to economize his business efforts. A friend of his suggested that he use one of the free online translator websites instead, and he gladly followed his advice…

i’m sure the food is still good!

This would have made a cool internet cafe.

LOLZ!

I’ve never seen it in the US. I’ve only seen stuff that’s purposely sorta engrish like Pho King.

Omg I know it’s hilarious.

It’s funnier to see that in America.

I don’t see how English will attract more people.

I love engrish stuff. It’s so funny.

I guess? ^^

BWAHAHAHAHA. That’s funny.  Really funny.

I wonder what his menu is like.

Gg. It’s still a cool name though.

Google translator ftl.

Awesome blog post!

I feel the sign situation is very earnest you know? It makes me warm inside.

The way they handled their sign, they tried. So they get kudos for trying. However I can see a total theme restaurant coming out of this.

But it does remind me of the translation of Taiwanese pepsi ads.

instead of the slogan “Come alive with the Pepsi Generation” it was translated too “Pepsi will bring your ancestors back from the dead”

Same here! haha I think it’s adorable.

Even if it’s bad engrish...I would totally eat there.

LOLLLL!
