BoA is no stranger to covering songs. The pop princess has remixed original hits, which have out-shined the original artists. However, with a twist of fate, American artists have covered her, as well – aside from YouTubers that is.

Most recently, BoA was covered by the famous American rock band Weezer. They were recommended the romantic Christmas single “Meri Kuri” by frontman Rivers Cuomo’s wife Kyoko Ito. Cuomo admitted that he usually disliked recommended songs, but was instantly taken with BoA’s “Meri Kuri.” And who wouldn’t be? The song is amazing.

Yeah I shocked myself.


i was really surprised when the Weezers covered one of BoA’s songs. They did pretty well with the pronounciation smile


I thought it was too cute when they started crying.


And the clip of fans singing Merikuri to BoA who then joined them later while crying is priceless.


I’m not being biased and the original version is always better so BoA’s owns Weezer’s smile
However, it’s nice that a famous American band did a cover of BoA’s Merikuri.


I think it’s funny that they tried to cover her. They’re so different from her.

didnt care for it, so i didnt listen to it.


Seems like everyone prefers Boa.


Like most of the ppl, i like BoA’s version more. Weezer’s version sounded a bit awkward, but i liked the “Zutto” part smile.

Lol, although I definitely prefer BoA’s version,
I actually kinda don’t mind Weezer’s cover.
I didn’t like it at first but kinda grew on me but yeah,

I started listening to it, and my gf at first thought he was singing in korean until he said zutto.. she thought it was good, until she found it was actually japanese being sung! raspberry hahaha

Just goes to show you BoA’s mastery of Korean and Japanese rox! raspberry Hoping she will master english soon! Woowoo! raspberry


BoA’s live merikuri is amazing. Weezer’s is cute though, but it doesnt hold a candle to the level BoAs is on.

Of course BoA is very much better
No one can compare with BoA


I like it in Japanese. haha
