A Quick Guide to BoA’s albums

Some of you have known BoA for years, while a lot of other people are just learning about her for the first time in the English-speaking world. Here’s a little discography list to bring you up to speed on BoA’s recording career. There are a couple mini albums (EPs) not included here, like “Miracle”. I’ve mentioned some of my fave songs on each album. What are your fave BoA albums and songs? (^>^)v

2000 ID; Peace B (Korean)
The album that started it all which makes every song on here a classic! It’s a perfect time capsule for that early 2000’s Kpop sound. Great for when you want to reminisce about your days at Seoul American High School.

2002 No.1 (Korean)
“No.1″ on “No.1″ is my number one fave song on this album and still in my iTunes playlist today!

2002 Listen to My Heart (Japanese)
BoA’s first Japanese album and the first time that BoA did some of her own writing and composing. I really like “Amazing Kiss”. It’s also got the Japanese version of “ID; Peace B”

2003 Atlantis Princess (Korean)
BoA’s voice goes strong while still in her teens. My fave song is most definitely “Milky Way”. An English version of “서울의 빛 (The Lights of Seoul)” is also released. Who knew it would one day lead to “Eat You Up”?

2003 Valenti (Japanese)
This album features the Japanese version of “No.1″ making it ichiban for me! Also digging “奇蹟 (Kiseki)” and “Flower”.

2004 My Name (Korean)
Extra versions of “My Name” and “My Prayer” in Mandarin? Wo xihuan!

2004 Love and Honesty (Japanese)
You can’t go wrong with a Japanese version of “Milky Way” known as “君の歌 (Kimi no Uta)”. Another must listen is “名前のない歌 (Namae no Nai Uta / Song With No Name~)”.

2005 Girls on Top (Korean)
BoA debuting on top of the charts at #1! Check out the hit song “MOTO”. “Girls on Top” the single also goes Mandopop! Fei chang hao!

2006 Outgrow (Japanese)
More faves for me on this album with “make a secret” and “Everlasting”. Also a Christmas song with “First Snow” but I don’t really like Christmas music. (I only like 2 Christmas songs, neither by BoA. Sorry!) This is also my fave album cover - hands down! ^_^

2007 Made in Twenty (20) (Japanese)
I dig “Lady Galaxy” and “Key of Heart”. This album also has BoA singing some Christmas songs, but I still don’t really like Christmas music…

2008 The Face (Japanese)
My favorite album so far! Personal faves include “Aggressive”, “Love Letter”, “ギャップにやられた! (Gyappu ni Yarareta!)” and “Hey Boy,Hey Girl with SEAMO”. BoA hits six straight #1 albums in Japan!

2009 Look Who’s Talking (American)
My crystal ball shows me BoA’s first American album in the Billboard sales chart’s Top 20, three hit singles and a BoA appearance on the MTV Music Awards. Anyone want to place their bets now?
