I’ll never forget the first time I played Pump It Up! Pump and DDR were the fad, but since Pump is a Korean-made machine, they were more abundant in arcades than DDR was. Because of that, I was exposed to Pump more than DDR, so I’m more biased towards the machine. I remember I was addicted to that game for about three years. I’d go spend 300 to 1000 won to play this at various arcades. I wanted to master some of the popular songs, but some were just too much for me. However, I enjoyed it!

Now, with my new job, I’m at a place where they have a Pump machine, where I can play for free. For the last two months, I have been playing the songs I played before with fondness. Slowly, I’m able to make my legs and body get used to playing the songs I like while many memories come flooding back to me.

Novasonic - Another Truth (Hard Mode)


I love playing this. My friend and I loved playing the normal mode. Then I decided to master the hard mode, and I did!

Banya - Beethoven Virus (Normal Mode)


This song drives me crazy. I love it, but around 0:55, that’s when I mess up and get confused! ARGH! I will master this one day!

Banya - Beethoven Virus (Hard Mode)


Dude. The normal mode is pretty insane, but this one’s more insane. Just watching these two go at it puts me in awe. It’s always fascinating to watch these good players dance around on the machine.

Banya - Turkey March (Hard Mode)


Man. This is another popular one back in the days, and I even know of one seventh grader who can play this pretty darn well at my workplace. Oh, and I can’t play this. This is way too advanced for me.

Sechs Kies - Com’ Back (Hard Mode)


Like “Turkey March,” I cannot play this, but it was popular amongst the better players, and I always enjoyed watching them play this one.

??? - Dignity (Nightmare Mode)


Nightmare mode, indeed. This is so crazy!

Clon - Funky Tonight (Double Mode)

I love playing this song (on hard mode). I read on Wikipedia that this is one of the more popular freestyle ones. Well. After seeing these two videos, I can see why.

i used to be obsessed with DDR, then i grew out of it.


I grew out of DDR.


ddr is one of my fav games even though i suck at it lol!
one of my friends is a master..
he can look at me,talk and dance at the same time without messing up!

I havent checked since my brother lost it a couple years ago But now he is into cars.

He had it in 7th mix and then he lost it to someone a year later in japan.

Tara I could have gotten you a interview with a DDR world record holder, he also taught some news people how to play on live tv LOL! (haha my brother)


It was fun but the psychedelic colors would make my head hurts. haha


Never got into the dance arcade game fad.

Pump is funner than DDR imo.


I bought it for the PS2.


I lost a lot of money to this stupid game.


I use to be really good at all the cute songs like Candy but it’s been forever. I’m still good at using the controllers though! haha


I suck at Pump and DDR but it’s so fun to play!
