I admit that I am not a fan of Condoleezza Rice and of the rest of the Bush administration. However, my lack of respect for her went way beyond the ninth level of Hell after I read this lovely article.

While I agree that trusting North Korea blindly – without any precautions – is not exactly a good idea, I don’t think calling someone – who trusts them – an idiot is right, either. I mean, seriously. She said “I mean, who trusts the North Koreans? You’d have to be an idiot to trust the North Koreans.” How about we turn that statement around say, “You’d have to be an idiot to trust the Americans.” I’m sure she’d be insulted and angered by that, but hey, she’s the one who said that about North Korea.

And yes, North Korea isn’t the best country out there, but what she said was really offensive and insulting. I have Korean blood in me. I’m sure I have ancestors and relatives so far removed from me that they are North Koreans as well. So, yeah, Rice, I am insulted by your statement, big time.

we need better people in the us government who knows how to say the right things instead of making america look stupid.

What Rice said was wrong. The statement in itself is racist, because Rice used generalization. You do not generalize a people for the acts of a few. To be specific, the North Korean government has issues as do all governments on this earth.

Mai said it where it makes sense. The generalization is the shocker whether she really meant the generalization would be a debate. Since I dont see it as a true generalization I am not seeing the comment towards people where was many who would see it trhough the eyes of someone who doesnt support CR or has NK relations would.

Nope For me I knew instinctively Condoleezza meant the NK goverment. I never thought for once she ment its people or anyone related.

I dunno maybe when we are dealing with nuclear issues and human rights I just see things differently. I have to ask myself if Italy was NK would i see things differently.. like if I was NK like one of my best friends DL is.

When i watch that video or read that article.. or think of the other qoutes where CR talks about the de-nuclearization and why its hard to trust a KJI and stuff...and i just see that.. i dont see it any other way.

For me I think I know why the nkg should be instinctively watched so i automatically pertain what she said to that.. not to individual people.

Anyone who could beleive she was purposely being offensive to North Korean citizens has to be nitpicking on her error. Im not saying condelezza shouldnt word her sentences better but this is just nitpicking.

The point of the post wasn’t about WHO she was talking about, it’s what she said. It’s not nitpicking, it’s her lack of vocab that’s at fault.

There is a human rights issue. murder and rape and more… things we should shed light on. That video will make you cry and anyone else too.

Yeah there’s a human right issue, but not in her quote. Again we’re not talking about what’s wrong with NK, we’re talking about what’s wrong with Condelezza Rice.

Condelezza is just fodder. She never worded herself correctly but she is in a media that nitpicks everything she says cause shes related to this administration that is already seen in a negative light.

Because she’s in the media, she should know to word herself better. For God sakes she’s one of the people who help run the country. You would think she would know better. And this isn’t nitpicking. If I’m putting my life in someone elses’ hands, they better know what to fucking do with it.

You’re probably right but again the fact that she said what she said all together is bad. Whether it was NK or Italy or anyone, it’s still bad.

The point of the article is about what Rice said. Not the NK government. Yeah they’ve done wrong but to say something like this doesn’t help the problem either.

Mia, while we are all aware of what’s most likely going on in NK, the point of this entry was to show how unfair it is to call anybody an idiot.  What if she said something like trusting South Korea will make you an idiot?  Japan?  China?  Any country in the world, Asian or not?  This entry was just pointing out how offensive she was being.

Also, the way she said, it make it sounds like she’s referring to all of North Korea, including it’s normal citizens who are the victims of the NK government.  So by her logic, we shouldn’t trust any of the NK refugees who managed to escape?  That we shouldn’t trust their words because it would be a stupid thing to do?

That’s what this entry’s about.  The human rights issue is there, as well, but that’s an entirely different subject.

Dude.. thats just it.

Condelezza Rice says we cant trust North KOreans so we right away down her because shes part of the bush administration. Anyone could see she didnt mean the normal citizens but the North korean goverment which hurts all its people.

Really watch that video. Read that article. They will effect you so much more than anything condelezza rice will ever say or how she said it.

Watch as the guy who escaped north korea say she was gang raped by officials.

Or how the korena boys swim to china to beg for food.

Or how korean people who are detered from a train ride scramble for fallen manuer so they can sell it to feed their families.

How some even use their own human waste.

Condelezza Rice shoudl not be an issue not when Kim Jong Il is doing this happen to his people on purpose.


If you read what Tara wrote, it’s not about NK it’s about Condelezza Rice saying something stupid. This has nothing to do with Civil Rights or NK citizens.

But I will sum it up on why North Korea needs to be outed.

A north korean miltary man and some of his family defected to the South Korea. There he gave information to the south korean authorities on how North koreans are using Gas CHambers.

They will take families , strip them naked, and gas them to death while all these other people watch behind plexiglass.

Most of these people are innocent of any real wrong doing.

Honestly I could care less about North Korea but to say something like this in this way, is just stupid on her part. It’s like Tara said, yeah maybe we shouldn’t trust them but you shouldn’t just outright say you’re an idiot if you do.


I think most of the things that are related to the bush administration are going to be twisted. Obviously the north korean goverment is what is untrustworthy and not the people of north Korea who are brainwashed and cannot have a nongreatleader thought.
