Hey all, a few of you mentioned in the KoreAm blogs that you enjoy Dumbfoundead, so I’ve posted the battle that was mentioned: Dumbfoundead vs. Tantrum. This battle pits clownin’/freestyling (Dumbfoundead) against raw aggression (Tantrum). Both performers are at the top of their games, but at the end of the day, I prefer humor over pure aggression, and I think in this case, most of the judges agree. Tantrum is out to kill: there’s a reason why he’s called Tantrum, right? It pretty much goes without saying that I would never want to be caught dead in a verbal throw down with this guy.

While I find myself wincing at Tantrum’s barks and bombs every time I watch this battle, Dumbfoundead just takes it in stride and serves up some pretty sly and visceral bites of his own. What really puts Dumbfoundead over the top is that he’s completely chill and laid back throughout the whole battle. While Tantrum goes straight for the throat, Dumbfoundead creeps up right under you before you can realize it’s too late. A beat down hurts, obviously, but it’s even worse when something gets right under your skin like Dumbfoundead’s wit-wrapped retorts. Obviously, both performers come from opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to their styles, so this juxtaposition really brings out both their strong points. Well worth the watch.
