Animanga is when a manga series is also released as an animated series. More often than not, an animated version is released after a manga becomes popular. However, sometimes a manga series and an anime are released in episodic unison.

One example would be the love vampire fiction called Vampire Knight, a story loaded with risque, fanged, melancholy-romantic characters. Its addicting mystery about the past of one young girl is also encompassed by the love triangle of its three main characters. Recently, the unrequited love story in Vampire Knight has taken a very strange turn.

Yuki Cross is your average, amnesiac, normal girl who was adopted by a vampire hunter and lives at a private school. Her only memory before her life at the hallowed school halls is of a gorgeous, sad vampire named Kaname Kuran, whom she is deeply in love with. Living with Yuki at this exclusive school are humans who attend classes during the day and vampires who attend classes at night.

**Warning Season 2 Spoilers Ahead**

In season two of this program, entitled Vampire Knight: Guilty, Yuki spends her evenings crying in the arms of her adopted brother Zero. Yuki is also attracted to Zero, who is a brooding sort and very unhappy about his own vampire status. During these late night comfort sessions, Yuki usually ends up as Zero’s midnight snack because Zero has his own feelings for Yuki.

Yuki’s past may have had its secrets, but now we know why everything was so hush-hush. Yuki’s life is in danger, and in the past, she was a target for the same people who killed the heads of the Kuran clan (Kaname’s parents). Moreover, Yuki isn’t just a plain old human with vampire hunter training. She is a full, blue-blooded vampire princess who had her memories repressed by her own mother. Also, she is Kaname’s younger sister and was born so he could have a bride.

Part of me says, “Aww,” but then I realize this is beyond the ick factor! So, all of these romantic gazes that Kuran and Yuki shared were incestuous. In one episode she says to her dear brother, “I do not know what is wrong with me. I’ve always been in love with my Brother.” I actually used to root for a Kaname/Yuki pairing, but with this news and the fact I threw up a little in my mouth, she should go with Zero…you know, her adopted brother!

This still doesn’t really change the fact that the story line is way too slow and drawn out for a story to me. ~_~

I always wanted Yuki to hook up with Zero anyways. I thought about the same thing until you find out something about Kaname. I don’t want to spoil it.

Yuki and Zero have smexy hot attraction. Especially since he used her like every night to munch on. For a while there I thought it would progress but she is so ditzy when it comes to kaname. I cant wait for the next chapter to be out. It should be translated by now/

It’s fantasy.  Sure, incest is a big no-no for many people, but . . . this is an anime/manga series.

Actually, this incest thing reminds me of Angel Sanctuary.

Yeah its a big no no for me. Although I do have cousins that married with the same last name in Italy. So it shouldnt shock me so much.

Angel Sanctuary was that 4 episode ova series right? they never made a sequel for that?

I thought she might be a cousin. Like a 3rd cousin.. who was part human. BUt oh man when I read that she was his sister I was Like .... so sick.jpg

They’re Vampires...how are they related?

I dont get the biology of it. Most vampires to me are undead creatures of the night but in this they are a very real species that can procreate with one another.
