No, not Minerva McGonagall from Harry Potter, but rather a man named Park Dae Sung, who has been arrested on charges of spreading lies over the Internet by blogging. Lies about the South Korean government. Lies where he somehow “predicted” economic situations and whatnot. It sounds more like he wrote many articles that criticized the government and their policies, but I guess the South Korean government doesn’t like to be trashed, so they decided to arrest this blogger to tell the rest of the country to STFU?
From an American standpoint, this is appalling and goes against our freedom of speech laws, and yadi yada. From the Korean standpoint, though, I have no idea what kind of laws they have. Though, I would think that arresting a blogger like that goes against the basic human right of speaking out, but last I checked I don’t think Korea has a Bill of Rights or anything similar. Honestly, though, I think the South Korean government is being a tard for doing this, but I can sort of see why they are doing it, too.
. . . I just find it funny that a single man can have so much power and influence over the government. That’s hilariously ironic for a collective society like South Korea. But now the incident has spread to the judge and whatnot. We can only wait and see what happens.
