Within the last several months, new images and videos have been released on the net. These images showcase Korean War from 1950 to 1953. Amongst images of combat, people, rubbles, and even celebrities like Bob Hope and Marilyn Monroe, seeing these pictures seem to make the war more real than surreal.

Pictures and videos are all here.

I’m glad you all found it interesting.  Tiffanie, you’re right that these stuff show us just how “big” the Korean War was than our textbooks usually tell us.

And I’m not sure why the posted it now, but I’m glad they did.

And, uh, Marilyn Monroe wasn’t in the War as a soldier.  She was a part of the USO thing, where USO would bring in celebrities to boost up the soldiers morale.  XD

Yeah this would have been useful when I was learning about the Korean War. :( Still I found the pictures educational.

Thanks for sharing this with us Tara. These images really do show that the Korean War was much, much more than the paragraph-long blurb in our history textbooks.

Such a large gallery. I’m glad they shared them.

I’m glad it’s over now. Or for the most part at least.

Marilyn Monroe was in the Korean War? haha I know these photos are sad but seeing her is kind of random to me.

What made them decide to put it up now?

It was a war? I’m surprised they have videos though.

Looks so ....sad. :(
