Just two weeks after winning best drama at the Golden Globes, Slumdog Millionaire adds yet another award to its belt on Sunday evening at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. The film about a poverty-raised orphan in Mumbai who goes on the Indian version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” won an SAG award for an “outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture.” This week, the film was also nominated for 10 Academy Award nominations including best picture, best director and best adapted screenplay. Yet another reminder to trust my taste in film! (haha.)

Shouldn’t we just hand Slumdog Millionaire all their Oscars already? It’s not like a lot of people watch the Oscars anyways, since ratings have been going on a downward spiral. (I’m watching of course. I can’t help my love for all things shiny, sparkly and Oscar dress-like.) The SAG Awards are hardly an indicator of Oscar wins, but there is no denying all the critical acclaim and accolades Slumdog Millionaire has acquired thus far. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, they have a super solid chance of shutting it down at the Oscars. The film is still in theaters — watch it before the Oscars next month!

Benjamin Button at the SAG Awards? Yeah, not so much.

this i my favorite movie now… i have seen it like a gazillion times

Benjamin and Slumdog were both pretty good movies. I’m surprised Benjamin didn’t get more votes since it’s an American story.

Has anyone ever heard of Chandi Chawok?

Ah...no wonder. lol

miss.kang: keep in mind this isn’t a bollywood movie, it’s a british movie with an indian cast

Much better dress but does them winning here mean that the academy awards will now snub them and praise Benjamin Bunny or whatever that movie is.

Yeah I like her dress here too. smile

Congrats.

I didn’t watch it! >< But I guess I didn’t miss anything either. lol

I guess I should really watch this movie now. haha

Looks like they won 4. haha That’s really cool. I’m happy for them.

The girl looks pretty. I like her dress at the SAG more than the Golden Globes.

That’s huge for Bollywood. I wonder if this will open the doors for more Asian movies.

How many did they win?

Wow they shut out Benjamin? ahha
