People often ask me what’s the best part about my job. There are quite a few answers I can give, but one that is high on my list is finding and getting to know talented people. Even better, finding talented people with a passion for something. You all know Ningin Anime blogger/NBA Analyst/Game Reviewer, Jerry Chen. What you might not know about him is his deep passion and knowledge of gadgets. Not only do we value people like that highly, but we also reward them with their own website.

Today, I would like to introduce to you ZiggyTek.com, our newest sister site, dedicated to all the gadget lovers, gearheads, technophiles, audiophiles, shutterbugs, early adopters, and other cool but geeky people. Jerry will be joined by new bloggers, Lora Kolodny, Peter Chin, Jack Chen, and Lam Chau.

What’d you think of Obama’s inauguration speech? “Man, it was amazing.”
Hey, you check out that sweet new Vaio P that’s coming out? “Huh, that Vonage thing?”
Story of my life. I’ve always liked electronics – not sure what it is about them, whether it was the futuristic designs, the myriad of buttons that helped you as long as you pushed all the right ones in the right order, or just the fact that I seemed to “get” them – whatever it was, nobody else I knew cared much for them. When they were all reading MAD magazine, I was buried in PC Magazine; while they shared jokes from the latest episode of Friends, I was by myself thinking how cool it would be to have a tricorder.

I’m somewhat of a gadget enthusiast myself, especially cellphone stuff, so it’ll be great to get access to all the new ones. So… Anyone know of enthusiastic anime, sports, or video game bloggers interested in filling the hole that Jerry is leaving on Ningin?

One other note, Ningin, Girlybubble, and now ZiggyTek, is part of the Mixr Media family of websites so users of one site are automagically users of all our sites. Ziggytek also represents an upgrade of our blogging software so there’s some spiffy new features which I’ll cover in another post.
