We are three episodes into Randy Jackson’s ABDC, and thus far, it has failed to deliver its promise on being the most challenging season. Seven crews are left competing to be the best of the nation, and tonight’s test had the groups dancing to Britney Spears inspired choreography. Assisted by Britney choreographer Andre Fuentes, the first two teams were announced to place for next week’s top five.
First up was Beat Freaks with a remix of “Womanizer,” and they had to include tough, but sexy moments within their dance. Their representation of the song was just like watching the video, but live. Rino looked amazing in her Britney-esque secretary look, and the other girls graciously gave her the spotlight. Besides their tight performance last week, they were so professional that I felt no chemistry between the members. It is unfortunate, but it is like them being the spot-on-team is working against them. Even if are disguised you can tell they are experts, and because of that I am losing interest. On a high note, they finally showed their girly side, and even judge JC Chasez said Rino was crispy. This group is going to be in the top two for sure. On a personal note: GO, RINO, ganbatte kudasai—kawaii!
Striker All-Stars had to set their required challenge—mirroring one another—to a remix of “Gimmie More.” The guys really impressed me this week because they showed diversity. They surged through their props and really used different angles to simulate reflection. Suffice it to say they have totally changed my mind on their level of ability. They were honestly good this week, even though their execution was off a bit. They still seem to be not used to pure choreography. I see them as a good group with potential to be great.
Dynamic Edition danced to a remix of “Stronger” and had to add chair props into their routine. Although it was a clean performance it was really weak and had no personality. Their cute outfits with blonder and blond locks only imitated Britney’s look. Lil Mama was right about them being too cheery for this song. I think this is it for the clogging quintet, and next week they will be in the bottom two.
Next was up was Quest Crew; their blindfolded presentation was set to a remix of “Toxic.” Can I just say… OMG! From the very first beat the guys owned the stage with amazing moves. They held one of their members in the air then covered their eyes and intricately jumped over one another. Right after they were leaping blindly and landing in a crab dance move, they smoothly went into pure Britney-like movements. These guys must have studied Britney really hard! Wait, did Dominic just kiss Mario Lopez? These guys are funny, besides talented and cute! They are so my favorites! GO QUEST!
Sharp turns was the chosen poison for Fly Khicks’ performance. They luckily got to dance to a remix of “(Hit Me) Baby one More Time.” I didn’t get this performance at all. To me, cat walking and humping the air isn’t choreography. Plus their costumes were too flashy and weren’t flattering. The only thing good about this performance was its end. Someone put this one trick pony out to pasture please!
The bottom two teams were Team Millennia and Ring Masters.
Although this was Team Millennia’s third time in the bottom, they got to prove why they were in the show first place. They had to dance with a hat and cane to a remix of “Me Against The Music.” They were really tight and in unison. The girls were perfect role playing Britney and Madonna, but it wasn’t enough for them, and this performance came too late.
Ring Masters fittingly got a remix of Britney’s “Circus.” This creative group got the task of producing a giant performer. It all seemed a little too perfect because the guys are side show talents themselves. Their hand choreography—or tutting—was hot, but I need more from Ring Masters. As much as I like them, I want to see more flow and less flexing. The judges said these guys are full of illusion and magic, but these guys need to leave that back home on the Coney Island stage. Ring Masters will be back next week, and I can’t wait for what they come up with next.

Yeah tonight they showed they can do “choreo” and bboying.
Quest crew is insanely good. I think people are acknowledging that, but really, they’re a level or two above even that.
Such is life! haha
QUEST WAS CRAZY!

It still sucks though because they finally got on the show and are now eliminated.
I thought TM did better but it doesn’t really matter if all of them will go home in the end. haha
They’ll go eventually. haha
When TM was bottom two with Ringmasters, I knew they were gone. With Lil Mama as a judge, Ringmasters are not getting voted off anytime soon.
LOL @ Shane for saying Dynamic looks like White Chics. hahaha

I expected more for a pop diva but I guess it wasn’t hip hop enough for everyone.
Did someone say my name?
Wtf does crispy mean?
Agreed. Fly Khicks are hot but really worthless.
Quest was the best.

Yeah a lot of the crews were really boring. I thought Strikers did really good though too.
It was a pretty boring episode. I only liked Beat Freaks and Quest.
