There are many things in life that I’ve given up on trying to understand. Like boys. English in Asian songs. Or UGG boots. This week, I’ve added one more item to the list: The Pussy Cat Dolls’ cover of A.R. Rahman’s “Jai Ho” song, notably famous for the ending dance scene in Slumdog Millionaire. What’s there to try to understand about it? I don’t understand why I like it so much — I’m not usually a PCD fan.

Since I’ve given up trying to understand, I can speculate that it’s for an upcoming covers album, since they’ve already covered the Chris Brown/Rihanna “Bad Girl” duet song which, given recent news, is not a good idea to be including on a covers album. Or any album, period.

So, since “Jai Ho” is most likely going to pick up the Academy Award for Best Song, why not cover it?

That’s a really hot song. haha


They should have had PCD sang the song.

Oh man, I highly recommend it!


The vocals are what gets from the original version. I don’t like the guy’s voice, so the PCD version sounds much better.


Whenever the DVD decides to come out, that’s when I’ll go see it. I’m guessing that’s gonna be awhile…


At first I didn’t like the PCD cover but hearing it like 20 times, it sounds kidna hot now lol

Not exactly PCD’s music.


They sort of made it into their own by adding some dance.
