Title: Winter
Artist/Composer: BanYa
Album: Interlock
Blurbs: I’ve mentioned my sudden renewed love for Pump It Up!, the Korean DDR game. Well, this song was one of the songs used for the game. Arranged by Banya, the musical group who created a lot of songs for the game, they took Antonio Vivaldi’s “Le Quattro Stagioni - L’Inverno, 1st Movement (Allegro non Molto) and 2nd Movement (Largo)” aka “The Four Seasons - Winter” and combined the two songs to create one prestissimoso (very, very fast) tempo that makes even me go whoah. Listening to this makes my head spin, but I love it! It’s ironic, though, since I usually do not care for remixes.

Coincidentally enough, these two are my favourite Vivaldi pieces; actually, they are some of my favourites from the Baroque period. That’s probably a big factor in making me like this song despite it being a remix!

Because I love these two pieces so much, I’ve included a bonus: here are two other covers of both songs. The first one is done by a group called Dark Moor, and it’s the electric guitar version of the first movement. Playing the solo on the violin is one thing. Playing it on an electric guitar is simply mind-boggling. I wish I could see the finger movement for the solo!

This is the second movement, and it’s done by Yo-Yo Ma and this Baroque Orchestra. Even though the solo is meant for a violin, I have no complaint against Mr. Ma performing it on his lovely sounding cello. :)
