Hip Hop Decathlon…? Before I start whining, it’s not just me. Quest Crew’s Dom (aka D-Trix) saw it fit to point this out, too: you know a decathlon consists of ten different events, right? Well, if you didn’t know, now you do. But whoever comes up with the ABDC episode challenges should know better. Five challenges decathlon. Sigh… all vocabulary policing aside…

This week, our final three crews must perform to a mastermix of the following five songs:
• Ne-Yo’s “Closer”
• Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown”
• Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”
• LMFAO’s “I’m in LA (Miami) Trick”
• 50 Cent’s “Get Up”

In addition, they must incorporate five different hip hop dance flavors into their 2-minute routines:
• Housing
• Krumping
• Threading
• Tutting
• Waving

Every crew—Quest Crew, Beat Freaks and Fly Khicks—has the exact same challenge and must dance to the same mastermix, so standing out is key. And I can tell you this, that was clearly not a problem… can’t wait for you guys to see this episode… I know it’s the throw down that I had been waiting for! Brian Hirano has a nice surprise for you and all of America, too. :)

For the final two crews, they must perform to a mastermix of… themselves. With songs that incorporate their vibes, voices and various talents, both crews will have complete artistic freedom over their final performances. The 2-minute decathlon challenge is really the highlight of this episode, though.
