This April, J-rock fans are in for a treat as topnoch J-rocker “Miyavi” will be performing live in concert. Hosted by Houston’s own Anime Matsuri, the royal rocker is set to take over Texas for his return US appearance. The artist’s management, PS Company, has set up a special exclusive for convention attendees, as well. A dealer’s room booth will carry official Miyavi merchandise exclusive to this convention. The booth will also be offering discounted special edition collectables and also offer limited merchandise from select artists, such as Alice Nine, The GazettE, Kra, and Kagrra.

Miyavi is a Japanese artist with Korean roots; throughout the world he is recognized as an outstanding guitarist and talented musician. He was inspired to follow his musical dreams at only 17-years-old. It was after a sudden death of a beloved friend that Miyavi moved to a Tokyo and joined the band “Due’le quartz.” When the group disbanded in 2002, Miyavi, at 20, gained solo success. A long stream of prosperous releases followed the star, and in 2007, he was offered a chance to work with J-rock legend Yoshiki from X-Japan. The two talents formed a super group called “S.K.I.N,” which also featured Gackt and Sugizo from Luna Sea. It was with that group that Miyavi played the US—inspiring him to return for several solo shows. His first world tour included 33 shows in 14 different countries, earning him the title of the first ever Japanese rock artist to have successful showings in South America.

And now, this amazing artist has set his eyes on the Lone Star State for his US return. Anime Matsuri is a Houston-based convention dedicated to fans of anime, manga, gaming and Japanese pop culture. Anime Matsuri 2009 will be held on April 10-12. This convention will feature an Import Reactor (a rooftop car ahow), an outdoor anime theater and a wide range of cultural activities.

Miyavi’s panel Q&A will be held Friday evening (April 10th), and his concert will be on Saturday April 11th.
