I’m back from following the JYP Tour from Coast-to-Coast and, wow, I’ve been missing some drama on Ningin!

I’ve read all your comments. First, I understand Team Platinum Heart’s disappointment about not dancing all together on stage with Wonder Girls. I was at the LA show (actually I was at all the shows!) and I know that there was a lot of confusion backstage. I know PH didn’t get to meet 2pm and JYP, but I assure you it was not intentional. In order to make up for it, PH got to hang with WG three times backstage — including in the dressing room with WG while JYP was on stage. It was the best that could be done under the circumstances. In the end, JYP Ent had to put on a show for thousands of people and that had to take priority number one.

On the Ningin side that day, Tiffanie, Kevin and I tried to meet PH all together around 7pm for a photo and interview but dance rehearsal was still going on. We were disappointed we didn’t get to see PH, but we took it in stride. I’ve worked enough live events to know that even with the best planning, a show the size of the JYP Tour is bound to have things happen. (btw, Kevin is our newest blogger out in LA!)

I had to trust PH would understand. When the dancers came out on stage, I saw the members of PH’s smiling faces and I thought everything was OK. I can see now there are still hurt and disappointed feelings.

I ask everyone to remember what the official prizes are:
5. Prizes: Grand Prize winner will receive a backstage pass to the JYP 2009 Concert in the city of their choice and autographed Wonder Girls items. First runner-up will receive tickets to the 2009 Concert in the city of their choice and autographed Wonder Girls items. Second runner-up, will receive autographed Wonder Girls items.
Autographed items will range from posters, albums, or t-shirts. Winners will be responsible for their own travel expenses.

Dancing on stage and meeting JYP and 2pm are extra goodies that JYP Entertainment tried to provide the winners. Those things were never part of the official prize packages for the Dance Contest. Yes, I agree — it WOULD be great if they were, but the truth is they were not. I know it doesn’t seem fair that only some of PH went on stage. I would also be terribly disappointed if I couldn’t go on stage with WG.

First and foremost, no one was singled out because they were Asian. Even with two members of PH missing, that still meant the other Asian members of PH danced on stage (East Asian and South Asian). The number of dancers on stage was an artistic decision to have the lineup go dancer, WG, dancer, WG, etc. In order to do that, two extra dancers in PH were asked to sit out.

So what about the NYC show with 8 dancers? JYP Ent decided to try it differently. Take a look at the second pic. Now really, which looks better with the WG mixed in? The LA lineup or the NYC lineup? Let’s be honest — the LA lineup with 5 and 5 looks better. With 8 Nobody dancers and 5 Wonder Girls, things look crowded and confused on stage.

Could we all have gotten what we wanted: PH all on stage? Ningin hanging out with PH? 2pm and JYP giving us all high fives? I wish we could have. But even I didn’t get to meet PH, 2pm, JYP or WG — and I work here! I mean I flew my butt out to LA for all this! I even missed hanging out with 2pm at Taco Bell at the OC show!

Things didn’t work out perfectly for anyone at the shows — not for PH, not for Ningin, not for JYP Ent — but “the show must go on.” Even so, I still got to see an awesome display of talented performers working hard to be better than the rest. I also got to see you, the fans, show off some moves in all the awesome WG dance videos that were entered.

I was lucky enough to meet some of you at the shows. That was a big deal to me. I recognized YOU because you all became winners when you posted your videos. You did what other people are scared to do. You put your selves and your hearts out there for the world to see. Be proud. I think you’re all stars and I hope you saw that in my smile when we met. I hope you’ll stay with WG, JYP, 2pm, G-Soul, J-Lim and Ningin. Fighting!
