Epik High have broken free of their record label with the new album (and book) “Map the Soul!” On March 21, MapTheSoul.com went live and came to an abrupt halt when 300,000 Epik High fans bumrushed the site at once. Over the weekend, there was a massive server upgrade and overhaul to handle the traffic. Today, MapTheSoul.com will come back online! What did Epik High do while the site was down? They all got in the bathroom and made a little video for Ningin! (Yes, in the bathroom.)

“Map the Soul” is both a music album and accompanying book. The songs on this album and the book are bilingual — English and Korean. For this new creative work, Epik High are not going thru record stores! They are going solo and self distributing their creative work from this point on taking mail orders from MapTheSoul, and digital sales thru all 22 iTunes Stores worldwide

This is an exciting event in the Korean music industry of artists taking control of their own careers. Epik High plan on being in the forefront of this new movement. They’ll be keeping in touch directly with fans with their own blog on MapTheSoul. They even set up a MapTheSoul twitter page!
