SECRET IDENTITIES: The Asian American Superhero Anthology officially hits bookstores today! The editing team of Jeff Yang, Parry Shen, Keith Chow, and Jerry Ma have pulled together the first anthology of superhero comics reflecting on the Asian American community’s role and place in American culture.
The list of contributors includes Jeff Castro, Sung Kang, Tanuj Chopra, Kelly Hu, Michael Kang, Yul Kwon, Tak Toyoshima, Dustin Tri Nguyen, Greg Pak, and Billy Tan. (That’s not even half the list!)
The book is readily available at Borders, B&N, and Amazon. But Spring’s here now so what better way to enjoy it but to get offline and out of the house? Chances are that your local bookstore does not have SECRET IDENTITIES on the shelf. What?! Why?!
Well, it’s Asian American, it’s independent, it’s a graphic novel, whatever. Ask your local bookstore to stock it. In fact, resist instant internet gratification and order it at the bookstore. Then go back and pick it up the next week. I bet it’ll be even nicer outside next week as we approach the end of April, so why not get out of the house again? If they give you any runaround at the bookstore, tell them “It’s published by The New Press, look it up! (please)”
We’ve got our own copy in hand here (see that pic?) and will post a review of the book soon, soon, soon!
In the meantime, check out this 10-minute trailer for SECRET IDENTITIES with the editors and contributors:
