Do you know who BY2 are? If you said Miko Wei Ling Bai & Yumi Wei Fen Bai, Singaporean twin sisters, then you were only partly right. You can’t forget to say they’re also super cute, super young and becoming super popular all over Asia, spreading like an infectious Cpop disease. They just released their new CD titled “twins”. I guess it’s a step up from the title of their last CD which was “Under Age 16″. (Yikes!) They’ve been in Taiwan for a big promotional push and shooting their next MV for “I Know” parading as, what else, schoolgirls. At least they’re 16 now. Pics below…

Ok, I admit I did listen to “twins”. I also listened to “Under Age 16″ — but not by choice! Some people kept insisting I give them a listen and the girls are growing on me just a little. They do the Cpop thing pretty well and at least they sound like girls maturing into women, not just a bunch of loli’s running around screaming (ever see that Morning Musume pirate song MV?).

Songs are mostly the ballads you love in Cpop, along with that one song that takes an American hook and transforms it into something Cpop. In this case, it’s 無解呦 (Invincibly Handsome) which starts off with the the classic American baseball stadium song — trust me you’ll know it when you hear it!

Anyways, a BY2 fan thought I’d like to see some pics from behind the scenes of the MV shoot because I work in film. The email said I should listen to them because she “loves them!!!”. While I appreciate getting the pics, I can’t make such a strong statement yet. I admit the “BYE BYE BYE” song isn’t so bad. Time will tell if they repeat the success and (Edison Chen) scandal of Twins, HK’s famous pop star twins.

Check them out and the MV for “Don’t Go Away”. Pics are all from TW the past couple weeks.
