After a successful run acting in K-drama’s, Korean actress, Lee Jung Hyun returns to her singing roots. Before LJH became an actress she spent her career as a techno dance singer, she helped lay the groundwork to popular singers today such as Son Dam Bi. Because of the revival of this upbeat genre, the queen of techno is ripe to return! (Whether she has some techno to display for her new mini album is not yet known) .This time, her name will be changed to AVA, as well as re filming one of her older Music Videos entitled “Crazy”. April 25 marks my one year anniversary of blogging for Ningin. In this past year, I had blogged 128 entries, and used the word ‘bitch’, ‘bitches’ or ‘bitching’ 105 times. I had also used words like ‘peen’, ‘ho’, ’slut’ or ‘crazy ass’ over a hundred times collectively. If you think my writing is vulgar, try talking to me. Even Drano cannot clean this dirty mouth of mine. You can ask my poor mom about that. She has tried doing that for years but to no avail.

Today marks one week since I started doing this daily favorites feature on Ningin. So I got a nice little email from the boss today saying that I’m doing great. It’s nice to be appreciated. I gotta say it’s a pretty easy job that I’d probably do anyway. Anyway, on to the theme for today. I’ve noticed lots of art related articles in today’s feeds. So today we’re going with an art theme. First is this set of photos about restroom signs. It’s part of some online challenge to come up with funny restroom signs. There’s TONS of entries and all of them pretty funny. I recommend clicking on the thumbnail link since there’s so many photos.

Do you know who BY2 are? If you said Miko Wei Ling Bai & Yumi Wei Fen Bai, Singaporean twin sisters, then you were only partly right. You can’t forget to say they’re also super cute, super young and becoming super popular all over Asia, spreading like an infectious Cpop disease. They just released their new CD titled “twins”. I guess it’s a step up from the title of their last CD which was “Under Age 16″. (Yikes!) They’ve been in Taiwan for a big promotional push and shooting their next MV for “I Know” parading as, what else, schoolgirls. At least they’re 16 now. Pics below… More »

On May 8th, the long awaited (by sci-fi geeks) Star Trek reboot movie will appear in theaters across the US. The movie has the multi-national, John Cho of Harold and Kumar fame, as Hikaru Sulu. That’s him in the top left of the poster. I believe there are other Asians playing minor roles in the movie as well. So let’s do another movie pin game. What’s the Rottentomatoe score going to be for this one? More »

Looking through today’s photos, I see a lot of well-dressed celebrities. Figuring I have a party to go to tomorrow evening, let’s focus on fashion for today. Here you have some grand opening. That always brings out well dressed people. [thumbnails] [originals - allkpop.com]

“This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Sony Music Records Inc.” — I wanted to share the new YUI single with you but that’s the message all over YouTube. It’s also been yanked off of vodpod.com, dailymotion.com, and mefeedia.com! >.<
Sony Music is all up in anyone's grill that hosts the MV. A real shame cause "again" is another great YUI song that you probably aren't getting a chance to hear. It's the new opening theme song for the anime "Fullmetal Alchemist" Season 2, YUI's first new single since last year, and spelt with a lower case 'a'. More »

Lady Gaga: Wow, where’d you get those shades from? I swear they look really familiar — like the ones I’m wearing in the Poker Face music video. Dambi: Oh, um…these? I got these at the disco ball…store. Lady Gaga: Fantastic. Listen, I have a knock-knock joke for you. Dambi: Really? Lady Gaga: Knock-knock! Dambi: Who’s there? Lady Gaga: Dambi. Dambi: Wait a second… that’s my name. Lady Gaga: Alright, Commander of the Obvious! Just play along, I’m on a tight schedule. Dambi: Dambi, who? Lady Gaga: DAMN, B! WHY YOU GOTTA COPY MY STYLE? How I wish the title is true but alas, it’s not. Korean pop icon Rain will continue to torment us with his singing and acting for years to come. He will also torture us with his appearance in an upcoming Pizza Hut commercial in Korea. The pizza behemoth has tapped the Korean entertainer to sell its ‘Smart Lunch’ offering. The humorous ad shows Rain enjoying a ‘Smart Lunch’ in the restaurant when a crowd of young women rushes in. He prepares to be mobbed by what he assumes are his crazy ass fans, only to discover that the women are more interested in the lunch deal than him.

Lots of interesting news today. But seeing how Ningin is talking cosplay today, I’ll just focus on the cosplay stuff. There’s a lot of good cosplay stuff today. Take this girl, Alodia Gosiengfiao, she’s like the Tiger Woods of cosplay. [thumbnails] [originals - dannychoo.com]

Meet Ningin’s KRAZY! Online Cosplay Contest winner Ali Bader! The fifteen year old cosplayer from Ohio travelled to New York City to compete in the KRAZY! Cosplay Contest and Party at Japan Society. Ali took a break from writing for quizilla.com and horseback riding to talk about the six days it took her to arrive on stage in New York City. More »

Last Friday, Rain announced he would join Jackie Chan’s Good Friend Concert in Beijing on Friday, May 1. Sounded like a great combo two days ago, but what about today? Let’s see… today the China Law Blog says “Jackie Chan Is A Know-Nothing Self-Loathing Racist”. Sing Tao News Network writes “Jackie Chan Deeply Disappointed Me”. And Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party said “Jackie Chan is unwelcome in Taiwan”. Ouch. Is this all because of booking Rain for the concert? More »

This set of photos has the Chinese internet buzzing. You’re going to have to click through to find out why cuz I’m still kinda like wtf?! It’s so weird yet so attention grabbing. Someone started an online mystery but why? [thumbnails] [originals - danwei.org]

TREELESS MOUNTAIN opens this week in New York City and I cannot stress how great an opportunity this is for cinephiles. Director So Yong Kim has crafted a touching film that can only come from the creative inner depths of one’s own heart. It’s the kind of film that gets easily overlooked with all the millions of advertising spent on big budget films. And that’s a shame. More »

Unlike the weekend, there was much more news to sift through. While I was doing just that, I noticed a pattern ladies and gentlemen. The “S” word appeared a lot. Yes, I mean scandals. I didn’t need to spend more than 5 minutes to find the ones I have below. My strict protestant upbringing prevents me from searching further. More »
