Three months ago, South Korean officials arrested “Minerva” — a South Korean blogger– on the basis of bearing malicious intent against the South Korean government, yadada, by spreading false rumours across the Internet. Well, booyah to the paranoid folks! The court decided that Park Dae Sung aka Minerva is NOT guilty. This calls for a celebration in my opinions. More »

2PM’s “Again & Again” MV evoked only one emotion from me when it debuted last week: Regret. Regret from exhibiting the restraint to throw my panties at 2pm when I saw them perform live during the JYP tour last month. Regret from making the decision to not risk the possibility of a UTI by using their “Only You” acoustic performance as an opportunity to take a leak. Regret from not taking advantage of Nichkun’s stint at stateside living because at one point he did live less than an hour away from me. (Stalking: It’s just easier when the stalkee lives close, yanno?) More »

This is going to be the first of what I hope will be many of what I call, Pin Games. (I really tried hard to think of a better name!) There’s going to be many different kinds. The basic premise is this: we’ll going to ask you to do something – answer a question, pick a debate side, argue a point, or just comment in the post – and we’ll award you a unique pin if you do what we ask and achieve the purpose of the post. Slow news day today. I’m guessing it’s because today is Sunday. Not many photos to select through but I didn’t find some amusing things. Mostly stuff about cute or hot girls again. Sorry ladies, I’m trying to find some hot guys to balance things out but the rest of the blogosphere isn’t cooperating! More »

Got your interest. Nothing perverted, this is just a new indie movie which is going to be released soon and I think if you guys have a chance to go check it out. I did see this movie at the LA Asian Film Festival last year and was pleasantly surprised at how good the movie was. It was well written and had a very effective cast. I am usually skeptical while watching an indie movie because independent directors usually only care about the lead and the supporting cast is usually ignored. In this case, the supporting cast is what made the movie, especially Gerry Bednob and Jalleel White who steal every scene they are in. More »

Just when you thought Morning Musume had finally run out of steam, the Japanese idol group Hello! Project invades the Cpop market with Ice Creamusume! The all-girl group is a Taiwanese reincarnation of those beloved (or annoying, depending who you ask) Musume girls that have made millions in Japan and worldwide. More »

The Ningin staff is having a debate as to what type of prizes we should give out to the monthly top winners. Some of us are saying we should be giving things that have a lot of monetary value like a brand new Nintendo DS or a new iPhone. Others are saying we should give out autograph stuff like our Utada poster and album. So I was like, why don’t we just ask our users? Ok Ningin, would you rather have a chance of winning some electronic item or an autographed item? Let us know by replying below. More »

My favorites for today seem to focus a lot on girls. I’m not saying I’m attracted to the opposite sex but there wasn’t much else that was interesting to me. Beware though; some of these pictures are not safe for work. Good thing it’s a Saturday ^_^ More »
Couple of days ago, I left my bedroom and headed for the computer room, where I had to pass my mother who was watching the Korean news. Before I entered the computer room, my mother suddenly asked, “Do you go to these places on the Internet to talk about suicide?” I scowled at her and said, “Mum, I don’t bother to go to those sites, much less search for them!” Right after that, I had an inkling that suicides must be popping up all over Korea again, but I didn’t really pay attention to it until I saw this article. FINALLY! Joe Inoue (井上ジョー) has released his first full album! Titled “ME! ME! ME!”, according to Joe himself it has “something for everyone”, from “ballads” to “death metal”. (Yes, Joe said it’s got death metal on it — I assume he’s talking about “Rage -Twenty Four-” and “Kuruma”) More »

I feel like this phase is the one that’s long overdue. The EXP system, sometimes also called our reputation or reward system, is basically just that, a means of keeping track of your reputation here on Ningin and also a means of rewarding you. We ended up calling it EXP because it’s very much akin to experience points in video games and because it’s just short to say and type. Plus, I think most people just know what EXP is when you say it unless you never once played video games in your life. More »

Hey Ningin people! I’m a new blogger here, brought on board to sift through all the daily stories in the Ningin Social News area and highlight the things I like everyday. (Ok, I’m going to try for everyday.) More »

You may be wondering what a ‘tweep’ is. For the technologically and social networkingly-challenged, I’ll break it down for you. Twitter, latest social messaging utility designed to keep everyone and their grandmother’s gerbil up-to-date + peep, short for people or person = Tweep. Like many tweeting celebrities, including John Mayer, Lily Allen and Britney Spears, all five Wonder Girls and Se7en have joined the Twitter bandwagon. Because ya know, it’s absolutely necessary to know what color So-Hee has asked her manicurist to paint her nails. Or when Se7en goes golfing or takes a dump. SO necessary. Out of necessity, here are your Ningin-beloved tweepz: More »

Geez… just tell the world you like to suck peen already! Hong Kong singer/actor Andy Lau told the reporters in Hong Kong that he is not marrying his long time girlfriend Malaysian beauty queen Carol Chu at the end of the month. Ass told the reporters that there was no such thing since “there was not enough love” for him to get married now. He also urged the reporters to check with those who spread the rumors about his impending marriage because there was none. More »
