When Tila Tequila’s trashy reality show A Shot At Love with Tila Tequila was canceled, I thought we would never see her again. But sadly, that wasn’t the case. Sure, the paparazzi seemed to have forgotten her for a while, but bitch found a way to get their attention again. More »

“Paco and the Magical Book” will have its American premiere in New York City, Tuesday, April 7 as part of New York-Tokyo’s ANA Nippon Eiga Series. The screening is free with RSVP, but seating is limited. “Paco and the Magical Book” is directed by Tetsuya Nakashima whose credits include “Kamikaze Girls” and “Memories of Matsuko” (an absolute favorite of mine). Last night I went to the premiere midnight screening of Fast and Furious 4, and holy sh*t was it awesome. Let’s face it, the last two weren’t such a let down that I had completely given up on the franchise but with the new direction of director Justin Lin, this movie doesn’t fail to impress. More »

If only I was in Tokyo, and believe me there are many reasons I would want to be in Tokyo, but at the moment this one takes the cake. At the Miraikan: The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation they have a special exhibit on the history of the Terminator which includes all the different types of terminators from across the franchise. Called Terminator Exhibition - Battle or Coexistence?, the exhibition was created in anticipation of the fourt film in the series Terminator Salvation and focuses on how the movies portray not only the designs of the robots but the concept of coexisting with robots that contain Artificial Intelligence (AI). How sweet it would be if an exhibit like this came to the U.S. More »

Multi-million dollar music videos, the hottest hairstyles and fashions, album covers shot by famous photographers. Amidst the buzz of all this in modern day J-Pop there lie artists whose music you have never heard. In fact, you’ve probably never even heard their names. One of those artists is RURUTIA. More »

There’s a lot of chitchat about Utada’s new American album “This Is The One”. And not just about the music, but the album art too. Few people thought the album art for the “Come Back To Me” single would also remain the album art for “This Is The One”.

Ningin asked a few graphic designers what they thought about “This Is The One” from a design standpoint. Their musical tastes were not a factor. More »

Quick Gun Murugan is finally having a premiere in LA at the Indian film festival on April 24th. If you haven’t heard about this or seen the trailer you are surely missing out on one of the funniest spoofs since Airplane or Scary Movie.

Quick Gun Murugan is a western spoof with attitude, featuring outlandish songs, outrageous melodrama and crazy action sequences including a classic duel in a traffic jam. More »

Let’s get one thing straight first: Yes, I live in South Korea, but I’m affiliated with the US military bases scattered around the peninsula, and so I have access to American moola.

With that said, I am now a proud and happy owner of a $2 bill, and I type this with a big smile on my face. See, the military bases do not use pennies except at post offices (thank goodness, I suppose), and $2 are something of a rarity to many people here. Including me. My mother has one, but she refuses to let me have hers. Ever since her blunt refusal, I’ve been dying to have a $2 of my own. More »

Hosted by MC Gosha of SunRiseFellow and Uzuhi, this concert at the Mean Fiddler turned out to be quite the delight. With 6 bands performing and going straight into the late night, it was a long journey into sounds that both soothed and pummeled all your senses. The first of what is to be many local concerts by SunRiseFellow went off almost without a hitch, but what concert doesnt encounter hitches? Due to some technical issues caused by the venue the first band, Noirceur, had to cut their set short, but were given a second chance later in the night and showed that technical issues can be kicked in the arse and put on a stellar performance. The night also featured the dance trio known as Ms. Shinsekai, three beautiful ladies who wooed the crowd between performances. More »
