Britain’s former T4 TV personality and my personal style icon, Alexa Chung, is coming stateside via MTV’s “The Alexa Chung Show.” The Alexa Chung show is deemed the successor to MTV’s TRL show, but with a twist. A Twitter twist. Unlike TRL where viewers were filmed or phoned to express reactions to celebrity guests, The Alexa Chung show’s partnership with Twitter will allow just about anyone with a Twitter account to Tweet their reactions that will be made visible on-screen. According to MTV, this is one way they’ll make its viewers “the stars.”

As appealing as that sounds, the only star for me is Alexa Chung, a woman I’d basically switch teams for. Aside from formerly being a British TV personality, she’s a model and an “IT” girl of the fashion world. For those curious about her face, her father is Chinese and her mother is British — rare, indeed! I’ve sort of lost hope in MTV since the 90s, but Alexa will bring me back if only just for a glimpse of her daily style:

Tune into the Twitter-powered Alexa Chung show on MTV, starting June 15.

I’m confused, is that girl in the photo her? She doesn’t look Asian.

@iPsd

She’s half, Asian-White.

She looks like someone I bag’s groceries.
Weird.

But yeah I can def see the Asian in her.

I kinda miss TRL ^^

really

Everyone is doing this Twitter thing, it’s kinda annoying lol

Wow. I never though MTV would make another version of TRL and it’s with Alexa. Honestly, I’m happy for her but not the show. I really think this is an excuse for MTV to say that they play music videos when they really don’t. This show is no exception and with Twitter, why??? They have their own social network on their website and I bet they won’t play the whole video, just a clip with some stupid comment by a fan/hater. ~__~ I truly thought with TRL gone, local shows like it before TRL may get their popularity back like CMC (California Music Channel). *sigh*

i can see a little asian in her...but not mcuh

yeah, i hate MTV, so maybe this may change my mind about the station

Given the power of Viacom, (media conglomerate that owns MTV), local tv shows have a small fighting chance. Before Viacom buys it out, of course.

i wonder if they’ll use the original TRL studio for her show.  It just seem like an empty place in times square.

Possibly. I wouldn’t be surprised.

Hey dude. Read the comments right. Jeff said she looks like someone HE’D bag for.

she doesn’t have much asian resemblance in her - if you didn’t say she was a halfie, I wouldn’t have known.

Twitter is gaining a lot of notice these days >.< well, I’m guilty of having one but I didn’t think it would become this big O__O ..

They should throw more events there ^^

Hmm...a TRL like show. It’s good news for Alexa but I’ve lost interest in those kinds of shows. I used to watch it religiously as a kid but now I barely watch tv.

My twitter is mostly spam lol
