Besides my love for beer and boxing, there’s reason to believe that I am woman with just one word and one word alone: shoes. Give me shoes, or give me death is something I live by. Apparently South Korean actress Ryu Won Jung, mostly remembered as “Anna Rexia” in 2005’s My Name is Kim Sam Soon and in real life, shares my same motto. Case-en-point? She rocked Balmain’s Spring/Summer 2009 “IT” shoes at this week’s “Castaway On The Moon” movie press conference.

Sure, this isn’t anything new. Actresses regardless of country like to rock the current season’s “IT” shoe, be it a loaner or something they paid for with their hard earned money. Jennifer Connelly, Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson are fans of the Balmain heels. As much as these babies make me salivate and become cause for many a good dream dreamt, the word “steep” doesn’t even begin to describe the price tag of $1,956 a pair.

Recession? What recession?

Luckily for you recessionistas, not-so-high-end fashion retailers have taken matters in their own hands to produce knock-offs that are definitely priced for the weak of wallet.

The real deal on Jennifer Connelly:

Aldo, $125 USD

Jeffrey Campbell, $169 USD

Zara, $169 USD (Sold out.Your only hope is Ebay where the auctions close off at around $400 USD)

Personally, I could only really see myself in Jeffrey Campbell’s version. I’m waiting for my *trust fund to kick in so I can purchase the real deal.

*Just kidding.
