Morning Musume, the girly Jpop group that I hate myself for loving, are having a totally cool contest — create their new video for “3,2,1 - Breakin’ Out!” Calling it an OPV (Original Promotion Video) Contest, you download an edited version of “3,2,1 - Breakin’ Out!” and a lot of video clips of the Musume girls dancing on green screens.

Morning Musume and their producer Tsunku will pick the winning videos. As I mentioned before, “3,2,1 - Breakin’ Out!” is the official song of this year’s Anime Expo 2009 and the b-side for their 39th single “Shōganai Yume Oibito” (しょうがない 夢追い人). Winners will be announced onstage during Morning Musume’s performance at Anime Expo 2009. And check this out… “Shōganai Yume Oibito” is going to get an American release this week on JapanFiles.com!

JapanFiles.com has been supporting Japanese artists since 2004 and sells MP3 digital downloads (legally) for 99 cents. They offer all types of J-music: Jpop, JRock, JPunk, maybe even some Jska?!

Complete rules are on the official Morning Musume MySpace page. If you want to go straight to the downloadable media, skip the MySpace and go straight here to the contest rules and legal agreement.

My love-hate relationship with Morning Musume is in full effect as I prepare to enter and win this contest. I’ve downloaded the over 80 video files of Morning Musume dancing girls. Editing now FTW!
