The news is dominated today, deservedly so, by the death of Michael Jackson. It’s rare when an individual is known across the entire planet making his death a loss for all of humanity. The shock is still reverberating around the world, resonating with fond memories of all the things Jackson contributed to music. Here is a small collection of those memories put together by the Asian media blogosphere:

From Popseoul we have a video of 2NE1 paying tribute to their childhood idol.

Seoulbeats compiled a video montage as a tribute to him.

AngryAsianMan
has a video of Far East Movement doing a Jackson song.

J-Ent has photos of the world in morning.

AllKpop has a collection of KPOP artists doing Jackson songs.

K-popped has twitter quotes from musicians everywhere.

TokyoMango remembers a popular 80s parody that she considers to be one of the best tributes to Jackson from Japan.

AlmostJapanese looks at classic videos of Jackson’s time in Japan.

And Jinra, of Ningin fame, shares her favorite Michael Jackson performance as she struggles to deal with his death.

Goodbye Michael…

R.I.P.

You were weird toward the end but you made good music.

RIP

He will definitely be missed. That dangerous performance was so amazing. One of the best of all time!

RIP

I had to stop writing since you were already making a post.

Although MJ has not a strand of Asian in him, he’s really all about what pop music is, the Godfather of it all so he’s an exception to pay tribute to.

Nice post

RIP MJ.
