Celeb baby pixs. Sometimes I think these are more entertainment to me than scandals. Just sometime, not all the time! Here we have Jang Wooyoung from 2PM and his younger, cuter self. Isn’t he adorable!?

If you missed out on this year’s JYP tour, fear not. The Wonder Girls are set to open for the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009. Only they won’t be touring the world so much, but just the US — for now. With such a well-played marketing move (Disney? CHA-CHING!), I’m sure you all are just ‘burning up’ to see them. And yes, I just referenced a Jonas Brothers song. Am I ashamed? No. Without further adieu, here are the tour dates and locations posted on the Wonder Girls’ site: Turns out the Wonder Girls site wasn’t supposed to go live yet, but it was up for testing. Just that little bit of time was enough for Wonderfuls to screenshot the tour dates. JYP USA hasn’t gone public yet in the American press, but JYP Korea has confirmed the tour. We’ll have the official info when the American Wonder Girls-Jonas Brothers frenzy begins! More »

As promised, here’s Tina Chou’s photo recap of Japan Day @ Central Park! Check out the kids doing their version of the Japan Run. I think the distance for each kid’s race was 50 feet for each year old they were. Plenty of bonding time over some traditional Japanese board games. And tons of drinks and food being cooked and given away free as a thank you to New York City. Artists performing included Orange Pekoe, Ai Kawashima (pictured), Yaz Band, Taro Masuda, and Soichi Muraji. Wish you were there now? More »

As if he hasn’t tortured us enough with pictures of his peen already, Edison Chen, the main dude in Asia’s biggest sex photo scandal, spoke to CNN recently to tell his side of the story. Puuullleaaasseee….. shut your trap already! No one cares if you were a victim. No one cares if you had intended to communicate with the female victims but your lawyer advised you against it. No one cares if you received death threats. No one cares if your career took a hit because of it. More »

As a life-long citizen of Orange County, I am no stranger to the ubiquity of the “sexy” Vietnamese coffee shop in Little Saigon. Last week, LA’s Fox 11 News decided to run a story on the Vietnamese coffee shop. Big deal, I earned gas money YEARS AGO at the boba joint a few doors down, I thought. And no, Vietnamese coffee shops are not deemed “sexy” just because of my close proximity. After all, I am but a lady in her pajamas, home on a Saturday night with no red wine, fireplace or bear skin rug in sight. More »

My undying love for trash TV is no secret and I am willing to publicly admit that I caught the first episode of MTV ’s Paris Hilton’s New BFF 2. The first episode proved that America is indeed ready for two Asian American people on the same TV show that isn’t called “Lost.” Onch of last season’s fame, returned as a guest judge and victor over the fallen BFF. There isn’t any telling if he’ll be a show regular. Arika Sato on the other hand, is BFF contender who is described as a, “gorgeous young Southern California girl who unapologetically dates only wealthy men because she feels any boyfriend of hers should drive a nice car and wear expensive clothes.” She meets all my BFF requirements! …But not really. These Death Note-like movie posters immediate caught my attention. But these aren’t movie posters and it’s not like Death Note at all. It’s a Korean drama about a murdered girl who possesses another teen’s body to exact revenge. Not my cup of tea, but cool posters still!

Just like to give a Happy Birthday shout out to Micky of TVXQ who turns 23 on June 4, 2009. It looks like the fans have already given him a huge birthday wish right looking at the photos. Check out some crazy Cassie contributions after the jump. More »

We like to talk about 2009 like it is the YEAR for Asian cross overs. In the case of Charice Pempengco, you can’t really say that she crossed over. She was here before she crossed over, all thanks to Youtube. It was announced this week that 16 year old Charice Pempengco has accomplished crossing over by being signed to major record label, Warner Brothers Records. More »

I was super skeptical about YG Family stating that each 2ne1 member was fluent in English on their website. Sandara Park whose lived the bulk of her life in the Philippines, was an exception of course. A clip of the girls singing a live in-studio performance of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” for a radio show surfaced this week. More »

With all this talk about Final Fantasy 13, how about Final Fantasy 14!! Haha, it’s funny that this is even being mentioned since 13 hasn’t even come out yet. I guess Squenix thinks we can drool over two games at once. They think too much of us!

Japan Day @ Central Park! I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 6 years and have never seen so many people, Asian or non, at the 96 St subway station. Tens of thousands of people came out to take enjoy the fantastic weather, with a sudden spring shower interruption, in New York City’s Central Park with a festival of Japanese sights, sounds and tastes. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete is hitting a big screen TV near you on Tuesday, June 2, on Blu-ray Disc and it is a digital eye candy feast! Danny posted up about this being released back in April. He was all excited to watch it on his 40″ Bravia XBR4. Well, I got to watch the FFVII Blu-ray projected from a Sony PS3 onto a 16″x9″ theater screen and it was incredible. The detail, the color, the sound — whoa. More »

One month down and no major bugs or crashes with our EXP system. I’m really happy about that. This means we can build from it and add cooler things to do down the road. Though I bet most of you don’t care about and just want to know who the winners for the month of May are. So without further ado: More »

You have to wonder what the producers of Suicide Pact, a new Korean horror movie, was thinking. The issue of suicide comes up several times a month on Ningin which is way too often for my liking. So why romanticize it by making a movie about it? It’s hard to judge the movie without first seeing it first but remember how a bunch of terrorist movies got pushed back after 9/11? You would think people should be sensitive here considering a former president committed suicide in this country.

Kero One gave us a little shoutout after he got home from his international stint with Epik High on the MAP THE SOUL Tour. The Bay Area rapper-producer traveled with Epik High thru Korea, Japan and across the US. We got the deets on the origin of Kero One, getting on board Map The Soul, and working with Japan’s DJ Deckstream. More »
