This past Saturday the Secret Identities people held their first ever Asian American ComiCon. It was one of those getting back to roots and community type events that Ningin is always happy to sponsor. I was only able to catch the last 30 minutes of the event, but from what I can tell, everything looked very well organized and the new Museum of Chinese in America is a gorgeous place in the heart of Chinatown, New York. Photos after the jump.
Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to attend any of the panel discussions nor did I talk to the main organizers. Kai-Ming Cha did and he wrote a nice recap on his site. I had fun in the little time that I was there. Some of the event highlights for me include meeting the artists for Iron Man, Wonder Woman and a bunch of other Marvel and DC comics superheroes. I had a nice chat with the Racebending.com people about the upcoming Avatar movie. They seem to disagree with some (or all) of the casting choices for that movie. The new Museum of Chinese Americans really is a nice place and I had a chance to catch up a bit with old friends from there. (Hello Daria!) Those in NYC should stop by when it officially opens in Sept. Oh and there was free Pocky! The rest, can be said in photos.
