Here Comes another anime/video game that is being turned into a live action film. Gungrave is a video game franchise that was basically created Yasuhiro Nightow- the guy that did the Trigun manga/anime series. It was popular enough to spawn a 26 episode anime series.
The live action rights were acquired by Convergence Entertainment and will be produced by Tim Kwok from Convergence and Yasuaki Nagoshi from Red Entertainment (the company that developed the games). The budget is unknown as of now but may be between $30 million to $35 million. No actors have been announced yet.
I personally can’t wait until this movie comes out. I thought the anime series was cool and filled with plenty of drama and action. Let’s just hope they choose the right actors and not chop up the story too much. But hey, it can’t be as bad as the Max Payne movie right?
