Being an idol sure has its perks! 4Minute, for example, gets to be ambassadors to some obscure convention where they get to play with what’s quite possibly the world’s cutest stuff animals. Given that they’re cute themselves and it’s like cute heaven!
From Girlybubble: I’ve been kinda on this search for the next laptop of mine. My old Dell is a few years old now and it’s only fitting that I get something super kawaii to go with my new job of blogging for Girlybubble. Sanrio, slave driver of the Hello Kitty trademark, does not disappoint. A simple Google search shows at least six variations of a Hello Kitty laptop! Each seem to be around $1500 hundred and only sold in limited numbers. This feels like an impulse buy so I guess I’ll wait till Girlybubble becomes more popular… More photos after the jump.More »
From Ziggytek: The Black Wii has finally arrived in Japan and looks absolutely stunning. The Wii looks like a stealth ninja. It brings back memories of when Apple first released their iPod video in black. I went nuts and ended up buying on. If Nintendo ever releases these in the States, I’ll definitely be getting on even though, I haven no reason to get a Wii. Crossing my fingers these come to the stats by the fall or during the holiday season. More »
You’re Vanessa Hudgens. In an attempt to let the public forget you took nude pictures of yourself, you’re often snapped by the paps coming to or from the gym, with your mom or with Zac Efron, your equally beautiful, squeaky clean boyfriend. You also just graduated from Disney’s High School Musical. What do you do next with your career? More »
From Ziggytek: Who knew Origami, that ancient Japanese art of folding pieces of paper has its finger on the pulse when it comes to science, technology, gadget design and all things generally innovative? Origami has helped out when scientists were still scratching their heads about how to pack large equipment such as (PDF) space lenses, and space sails for a satellite and even in the medical field with (PDF) stents. Quick note to those baseball fans out there. Tonight is the MLB 2009 All-Star game. There’s two Asians it in it this year: Ichiro Suzuki, of the Seattle Mariners, will be starting for the American League and Shane Victorino, Philadelphia Phillies, will be a reserve for the National League. The game is on FOX starting at 8pm EST or 5pm PST. More »
This past Saturday the Secret Identities people held their first ever Asian American ComiCon. It was one of those getting back to roots and community type events that Ningin is always happy to sponsor. I was only able to catch the last 30 minutes of the event, but from what I can tell, everything looked very well organized and the new Museum of Chinese in America is a gorgeous place in the heart of Chinatown, New York. From Girlybubble: AKB48 is this JPOP band that has 48 female members! It’s more accurate to say that they’re three groups in one with each having 16 members. 16 x 3 = 48. Each group is designated Team A, Team K, and Team B. Hence the name AKB48. That isn’t the interesting part. This idol group also does theater shows once a week. I kid you not! And of course their poster is sooooo kawaii! Youtube videos after the jump. More »
From Ziggytek: LG, the 3rd largest cell phone manufacturer in the world is planning to launch an App Store of their own but will be released first in South Korea. Currently, the LG application store holds 1,400 apps, available in 15 different languages, but LG is determined to up that number to 2,000 apps in 24 different languages by the end of this year. Have you ever been to a non-English speaking country and come across signs that were written in English that you don’t quite understand? I sure have. The funniest lost-in-translation-signs I encountered include “Thank-You You” and “Silent Is Gold“. Here are some of the funnier ones that were spotted in Asia. I found these on the internet.
This will make a great pest control subject, I believe. More »
Rain is still alive and doing well even though he decided to turn down Megan Fox. Still don’t know what he was thinking about Megan Fox. If she asked me out I would say yes and I’m not a lesbian! Ok that’s another story. Let’s focus on photos of Rain at the Asia Dream Concert. And don’t forget to check out my Girlybubble stuff if you’re into cute, girly things ^^
With so many things going on, we haven’t had much time to do the planned re-design of our sister site Girlybubble. So we’re just going to use the old design while we restart the site. Besides a redesign, it was also planned to narrow the theme and scope from all things girly to all things pretty and cute. That much we can do easily. You’ll be happy to know that our own Princess of Cute, Sarah Kim of the Ningin famous “Missy Kim Favorites” column will be writing for our Girlybubble site. More »
Just when I thought I couldn’t move on after Asianwomenholdingthings.com ceased to exist (It really did, I swear!), a new quirky blog arises from the Asian blogosphere: Asianposes.com. It is what you think it is. A blog dedicated entirely to Asian picture poses. Have you never in your life (and by ‘you’ I mean, ‘you Asian person’) ever been so proud of your heritage? Or impressed? While I’m not entirely convinced that Asian people invented the ‘V’ pose, this web site is challenging my beliefs. And obviously pointing out my failures in life: More »
I think I’m going to dedicate today’s favorites to hot guys. Or at least half of this post anyway. We’ll start with 2PM and their new robin hood looks. The photo isn’t related to the story much, but you might want to click through and see a short video of 2PM dancing with 4minute. Not sure who decided to match these two chronological-themed groups together but the new name of the combine group is 2:04 pm. ^^
