Girls were chanting and screaming; traffic was completely stopped. It could only mean a big boy band was in town. On all sides of the Staples Center there were kids in large clusters in a ratio of 8 to 2 - girls to boys. The Jonas Bros weren’t even in site yet but the girls were already screaming anytime a person would say, “Scream if you love Jonas Bros!”

I’ve never been to a full out boyband show so this all new to me. I was looking for the Wonder Girls supporters. Couldn’t find any. Typically I’d notice a “sea of Asian black hair” at any concert promoting an Asian artist. But alas, it was a sea of blonde and brown. In fact, I had to try really hard to find another Asian besides my accompanying photographer.

First to perform was Honor Society which were just added to the line up. They are a pop-rock band similar to Jonas Bros and will be touring with them from now till the end of the tour. They weren’t too bad on their instruments with keyboards, guitars, bass and vocals were sung live. They are still pretty new to me so I can’t really give you a full opinion of their music just yet. I definitely can tell you that their songs are all geared towards young girls.

The Wonder Girls setlist is usually two songs, Nobody and Tell Me. However, this time around it was cut to just ONE song, probably because Honor Society was just added. They started off introducing themselves and did a tutorial on how to dance to Nobody and then performed the song. I was happy to see them as they sounded great and were beautiful.

After the one song, they were hurried off the stage for Jordin Sparks. I was not expecting this new diva to be here, but was glad to have her. She had quite the reception and performed her best songs. She impressed us all with her HUGE vocals. All her songs were crowd pleasers and sing-alongs. It wasn’t a bad idea at all to have an RnB act along with rock, at least for me since I enjoy Pop/RnB a lot.

Jonas Bros came last. I got to witness all the excitement that people were waiting for. I was expecting Jonas to run out of steam by this time nearing the end of their tour, but they beat my expectations cause they were on fire. I’m not sure how these guys have so much energy since touring is so demanding on the mind and body. They put on a good show.

If you guys can make it out for the remaining shows, I would recommend it!

Special thanks to my photographer, Wendy Lam. You can check out our photos here. Please make sure to give me, Danny Truong, and Wendy credit if you’re going to put our photos on your site.
