Next spring, Jet Li will star alongside Sylvester Stallone in The Expendables, an action film that is not about my income. (Get it? Expendable income? Not funny? Okay.) So far, all that’s known about this film is that it sounds like any old action film: A group of mercenaries travel to South America to overthrow a dictator. Hmm, I wonder which dictator…Schmidel Mastro? What’s different is that it will be a film paying tribute to action blockbusters of the 1980s and early 90s. Perhaps, Sylvester is feeling old and he’s making this film to feel young again? And he thought Jet Li would help him along with that as character Bao Thao? Whatever the reason, it doesn’t sound bad — Jet Li can serve up a good action film. The Expendables will be released April 23, 2010.
