Seems that most of you don’t have much faith in the great master of anime movies, Hayao Miyazaki. Rottentomatoes gave it a score of 95%! Let this be a lesson to those that doubted him. Not all of his movies make it to the States, but of the ones that do, they’re usually epic! Ponyo may not be his best ever, but the man lives up to a different standard of excellence where even his mediocre works are far and away better than most can put together. It’s Miyazaki’s world and we’re all just living in it. Those that have seen his movies probably would love that notion.
Here’s the certified fresh Rottentomatoes consensus: While not Miyazaki’s best film, Ponyo is a visually stunning fairy tale that’s a sweetly poetic treat for children of all ages.
