Hugh Jackman has confirmed that the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine will take place in Japan. The story is in its first stages of development and Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) will write the script.

It seems that the second Wolverine movie will be based off of Frank Miller (Sin City, 300) and Chris Claremont’s (X-men) 1980s Wolverine comic that revolved around the character’s life in Japan (not to be confused with Wolverine:Soultaker-shown to the left).

The Wolverine franchise goes on despite not-so-good reviews of the first movie. I haven’t seen the movie so I can’t really say how I feel about its sequel but I’m sure it would add a refreshing new twist to the superhero movies that are being released nowadays. Maybe it’ll introduce a few more Asian actors/actresses to the American audience or help promote the ones that are already acting in Hollywood. We need more Daniel Henneys (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Byung-hun Lees (GI Joe) over here!
