No, Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane from Spiderman) isn’t a hard core anime fan (or is she?). She’s dolled up for a music video directed by McG (Terminator Salvation).
Dunst looks like she came out of a colorful anime, more specifically an ordinary-teen-turned-magical-girl kind of anime. With the crazy blue hair, the pink and purple skirt, and the top of some kind of school girl uniform- what kind of music video will this turn out to be?
McG has stated his interest in anime and that he loved Tokyo’s Akihabara shopping district (mostly for electronics and anime). Maybe the music video will follow the life of an otaku (obsessive anime fan for those who didn’t know)? For those who are curious to see it, the music video will premiere later this year so keep your eyes open for it. Youtube will most likely have it.
This is a totally different style from her usual nice-girl-next-door look. Maybe she’s looking to try something new? Also, this isn’t Dunst’s first encounter with the anime kingdom. She did the voice for Kiki from Hayao Miyazaki’s Kiki’s Delivery Service.
